Wonder how reliable it is. Pity the Usas-12 isn't just that, seems like a better ergonomic design plus the drum mags, etc. I was skeptical when I first saw a post about it going over to Iraq but I hope it does well over there.

I was going to pos that last article on teh AA-12 but Ogre beat me to it, it is from SOF though, so who know how legit the statements are, I was surprised that the AA-12 is over 25 years old - More than a quarter of a century ago the late Max Atchisson developed a unique combat shotgun called the Atchisson Assault-12 (AA-12). A selective- fire weapon, the AA-12 fired from an open bolt and used either an 8- round box magazine or a 20-round drum. Atchisson also developed a prototype 40-round drum that was housed in a box to conceal exactly what it looked like. |

Yeah, apparently it was the basis for the USAS 12 too, but this Atchisson guy wasn't able to perfect it, so he sold the rights.
