Ok, after playing in the first few ghrd games, it looks cool. except that we;re limited to one map, which unfortunately is the largest map there is, but thats ok. anyways, it is cool, so i recommend you dl the demo first, and I FINISHED DLING IT BEFORE YOU ALL!!!

Meaning: It doesn't run... I open it... and I see a "Ghost Recon" with "Tom Clancy" screen, then an error type 2 occurs... every time...

Ben, the same thing happened to me when I finally got it, the download went fine then there was an error while expanding it. Does anyone know what's wrong or where I should dl it from?

Well, I like it better than RS so far...I don't like how it is set up to tell your team from others really...my first kill was a tk, but I'm still doing pretty well I think. Is it me or does the game lack a team deathmatch option...now that they have respawning you think it would? Anyways, I am very much considering GR now...maybe I won't be stuck back in the R6 ages forever.

It's a common problem.
Under MacOS 9 I had the following troubles:
The first time I started it everything went fine. I could play GR in single player with medium details on my old imac(for details see *DAMN main page). I adjusted my controls and played a little bit. Then I quit GR.
The next time I tried to start it it crashed my OS9 with a system fault.
But when I start it in mp it still works!!!(BTW in mp I have to reduce my graphic details to low)
The solution to run GR in sp again is to delete the lke.log and the userfiles at the data folder. Then I can start it again.
In Mac OS X I can't play GR, the following happens:
I can start it without any problems even with the userfiles that let GR crash in OS 9 but whenever the mission has been loaded the whole OS X freezes. Damn it.
Somehow this whole situation reminds me when the RS demo was released bah... That sucks however GR is a cool game although or especially because it is different from RS!

Mine unexpectedly quite after the completion of a game after both games I've played...that being in OSX. So that may be a problem as well. I assume these are demo issues and not something I should worry about in the full game?

Infection check the file size of your .sit file. It must be 74.230.844Bytes large. If it is smaller your download has stopped unexpectly.

I am apparently getting the same error (the type 2 error when running it). I found it's because it refuses to fully unstuff the .sit file saying that the archive may be corrupted....I'm not exactly too sure how to solve that problem...

A little tip to show FPS
I'm not sure if this works in demo...
but open "ghost recon data", then options.xml. It should open in a text editor,
go down and find
"<ShowFrameRate>FALSE</ShowFrameRate>

First: Type 2 usually means memory problem, so check that out.
Second: After you find "<ShowFrameRate>FALSE</ShowFrameRate>", then what? Should we change it to true?

Guys, try taking your sit and expanding it with Shrinkwrap, that did the job for me.

Wow, that worked great. It probably couldn't unstuff it because of the recent update for Expander and it might have had a problem with it. But now GhRD actually works!

My Stuffit Expander handled it perfectly, probably due to the fact that i always click the "Not Now" button because i never feel like updating it. As the saying goes: "If it ain't broke, dont fix it."

Hmmmmm, now it seems that every so often when exiting GhRD, my finder crashes and I lose my mouse, forcing me to force restart my computer. So many bugs with GhRD I guess

Sniper don't worry the full version runs much more stable. I am at the last mission of the original GR sp campaign and I never had a crash in OS 9 so far. In OS X from time to time the screen freezes and let the total system crash.
But in OS9 I didn't have any problems yet.
