Airsoft..anyone play?

Just wondering if anyone plays or has an oppinion? I used to play paintball, but airsoft guns have me interested because they look so much like the real thing?

Anyone  have any thoughts?

I too used to play paintball, fun sport but it's pretty expensive. Airsoft seems awesome, as you said the weapons are great to look at but it seems that you'd be hard pressed to find anyone to play with. It also seems more expensive than p-ball too.

I thought the same about finding people to play with, but a simple websearch of "airsoft in az", brought back some very interesting results, and association and everything right here in sunny az, not 15 minutes from my house. As far as expensive, I would tend to agree.

Hmm well that's pretty good. You should go check em out and talk to the members, see if it'd be worth it to shell out about a grand for a toy gun.     Personally I'd rather buy a real rifle or handgun instead.

Ive got two paintball guns, havent even shot them in like a year. My son went off and joined the army. No one to shoot...except the dogs. Rottweilers dont like to get shot...hmm...maybe my daughter will volunteer

Airsoft, Ive got to many real guns. My Sig p226 does just fine. Am thinkin about a .40 cal though.

I got a Walther P99 9mm but it took me 4 f'ing years to get as i live in New Zealand where gun laws are mad no autos which sucks i had to get an A.B.C class fireams licenses an can only shoot at the gun club coast me $2000 for the P99 but i don't care i got a hand gun.

Paintball is my life- even moreso than video games...

ive got a Spyder TL with a triple-D mag-lite attached to it and a AA one right beside it.... weighs down the gun a bit but they come in very handy... (ie- very obnoxious if shined in ur face unexpectedly)...

i go with friends to scenario games (*evil grin* ... *looks at Coco*) which last anywhere between 5 and 24 hours long and are attended by anywhere between 40 and 2000 people. lots of fun..... expensive sport but worth it.

my friends down here say i have an unhealthy obsession with the sport, but thats ok. its a hobby, and gives me something to be proud of besides games, graphic design and sams club (my job).

i get better and better with every game i'm in, and i meet new people with every trip i take- which CAN be a bad thing tho .... (coughcoughHALTERTOPCHICKcoughcough)... getting hit in the knee from 6 feet away WAS part of the equation where we went last time ... but hey- where else can u go CQB'ing thru a 2 story house Rogue Spear-style and be gauranteed being able to live to tell about it?

I too was obsessed with paintball when I was a bit younger....I played way back when semi/full auto was only possible via the tippman smg with little clips...auto trigger was as close as you could get to semi auto.. hold the trigger and pump as fast as you can. Break  a ball and get your squeegee out, and start over...I used to play every weekend, I saved enough to buy me a top of the line(at the time) Bushmaster....came with a 14" barrel but I bought the 11" soI could be the pointman..heheh. It was also right about the time that "speedball" came into being. Nothing worng with a littel CQB and orange paint.

speedball's fun. i was pretty good at it when i tried it.

I have not played paintball/speedball in about 8-9 years maybe longer...last recolection I have is putting one right between Ricky Schroeders eyes...."PAINTCEHCK"!!!!!!!!!

He thought he was such a badass(no offense Coco)..with his fancy gear, and $600 gun...
I'm like "dude you're Ricky Schroeder", he was my name is "Rick"..

people dont go all the way with fancy gear cuz they think theyre badass, people like me and whoever else i paintball with (ie- me and coco wearing black a couple weeks ago just for the hell of it) do it cuz it looks cool.... not to mention my mag-lite added a bit of intimidation! can you believe how many people are scared shitless of a damn flashlight bouncing around in the room adjecent to them? its like since they dont know who has a lite or where the lite is coming from, the frikin world's gonna end! i had people come up to me after games telling me how much it freaked them out!


and blinding the daylights out of people with a triple-D is TOO FUN!

wanna know how hard it was to tell who was who the other weekend? that nite, i got into a fight with someone who was sniping me with a laser. to top it off, niether of us knew we were on the same side till the ref told us! btw, lasers are forbidden.

Never played either in a serious match or event, have spent many hours in my youth running around the texas landscape shooting friends with Benjamen bb/pellet rifles. One pump max allowed of course
