Mario has officially cometh to my house. Just minutes ago the friendly UPS man dropped it upon my doorstep and ringeth my doorbell.
So with this I must think that my posting will be intermittent.
Who else is buying Mario Sunshine?

Sorry man, but mario sunshine sounds like mario gone gay. Sunshine! come on they could have thought of a better name. As for the actual game, no point to me buying it i don't have gamecube. I'm sure the gameplay is "revolutionary" or the graphics amazing. I really don't care anymore about the other gaming world (apart from computer gaming) ask me about the old days (atari, nintendo, snes, genesis and the like) and i'll answer.

hmmm, imo the worst mario game ever, my brother (?ettin) got it the other day and i wathced him play it. first of all it looks like it needs a major graphics upgrade. and it doesnt look like much fun, you have a water gun and you go around spraying sludge with it.... :  |

Bah, what an ignorant bunch. I don't know why I bother talking video games on this forum. I feel sick for the youth of society that goes...it has Sunshine in its title...therefore is gay and something I don't want. Image over entertainment every time for these people (which is why they claim the PS2 is better).

They named it Mario Sunshine because the point of the game is that mario went on vacation, where there is alot of sunshine. Get the point.... good. However during his vacation he encounters a whole bunch of new enemies and what not. All I know is the game got a really good rating from EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) and their ratings are really accurate. Supposedly Mario has some sort of jetpack now too. Seems like a good buy to me.  |

Yes, EGM I find to be one of the few reliable reviewers as they are actually strict...the others being Extended Play and myself (My average rating of games is stricter than any site listed on Gamerankings).
Mario got all 9.5s from EGM and their only complaint was the camera controls...which after playing the game really aren't much of a problem at all (I've only thought that the camera sucked about 3 times in 6 hours which is astounding for a 3D platformer).
But yes, Sunshine is fitting for the game...your primary goal is to collect "Shines", and all of your work is to remove the problem that is causing the sun to be blocked...so the title is perfect outside the fact that insecure teenage boys won't buy it...but they don't own a Gamecube in the first place.
What it all boils down to is if you like platformers...as Mario Sunshine is the best 3D platformer ever (beating out Mario 64 and Rayman 2)...although this is after 6 hours so maybe it will lose some appeal.

The game looks really good. I've always been a big nintendo fan, but I never got a Gamecube. I love my PS2 though, but now I want a Gamecube. Ahh..time to get a job. Damn...
