When i log on, and hit connect i get a message "disconnected error 103 connection closed" blah blah blah... and the help about my rs colors is still needed!

a 103 error means it can't find the server.  when you get those, check the server address and the port number and make sure they are correct.  

the server has been up and running fine it seems.  in the last three hours we've had over 200 connections and only 14 errors (which means disconnects that were not by hitting the disconnect button).
