Omfg BBQ.

What is the best program to make a web site?

I have Adobe GoLive along with all other adobe programs.  On the other hand, I also have macromedia studio MX (dreamweaverMX, flashMX, etc...)

So which one do i use?  I am trying to make a site all in flash so it looks really nice, but i really like the golive interface.  What program was used to make the DAMN site?  also what is all this BS about a "dynamic site."  do i really need to take a college course on all this ASP or PHP crap.

Also, i have seen this type of forum on about 10 other sites.  Where does this come from?  Is it included in some app and that's why it's so popular or what?

It all depends on you. Easiest for me is HTML... Straight HTML, is just is logical... Other then that Dreamweaver rules...

Ben is right, but if you're like me and dont know a bit of HTML use Dreamweaver, its tottally better.

I made some hella good sites with Dreamweaver and Flash 5. But, since you're looking to make it flashalicious, i say just make the main shiznat with Flash then just do the text and what not with HTML. You can seperate it with a frameset for uber sexiness. While i'm telling you all this, why don't i just make your site?   Anyway, yes, a Flash app and Dreamweaver work very well together, considering it requires minimal skill and both are Macromedia programs which helps with the whole compatability thingamabob. Dreamweaver Smiley

and for those of you who dont know, you cant do straight html in any text editor, also, bb edit lite works

there are also some freeware apps that will do simple website work as well

i use photoshop, then export grapics to imageready to make imagemaps with rollovers.. then i modify the html files made by image ready in dreamweaver MX...

but anyways.. yea. Dreamweaver is a lot better, even though it take a bit to find all its useful features, the most important ones are all easily accessible. and i've used it for a few years, so it kinda makes better sense than anything else to me

it doesn't take a college education to be a web designer,
a high end webdesign shop that i'm friends with... none of the people there went to college for webdesign. a college webdesign cet isn't highly esteemed by the high quality webdesign companys.

HTML is simple, i learned it when i was a little noob of 11 (7 years ago), other things come in time... good sites to learn from are...

Gorf the reason why you see our forum on other websites is that it is a free board by YaBB - see credits at the bottom of this page.

I wrote the whole site by hand using the full version of BBEdit. I don't like any editors. For graphics I use my Photoshop 6.0.

heh i actually am in the process of making a webpage for a collage, and im still in highschool

Jeb what languages do you know and is knowing HTML necessary?  Would it be more valuable to learn Flash code?

and wtf r u people talking about making a webapge in simpletext?  explain?
