Who's the best host for RS

There are great pings everywhere in RS for me... if you don't have a 56k and aren't in europe, pings above 100 are rare... the only thing that for me matters in a host is whether they pull the 1v10 shit or the 3v10 shit... unless, of course, i am on the team of 3. when i was, or more like still am, a noob, playing with the team of 10v3 wasn't fun at all... it's a lot better to play a few random team games and then to find which of them was the fairest and keep it... problem is, that everyone who is in a clan will put them and their members vs all... oh well, no one will listen to this...

US hosts: Voodoo,Ultimo and Gorf (some nice 100 ping or less)

I agree with Beast, i get in the 30's from Ultimo and low 20's from gorfy

I ping 09 off Sliverblade and he the same of me beat that i got a SS if you ?wann see it ?

I've never played on Gorf's on, but I would asume that it's the same as Colin's, I get a fair ammount of lag on them, I guess that it's all in the location. Both VooDoo and Ultimo I used to get pings right around 200 on, they're both great hosts.

if you don't like games that are like 3vs10 or 2v8... don't join rob's host... him and me took did 2v8 for a few hours. its quite fun being the 2, we would average a win every 3 or 4 games

Thats true that, it is fun to be on the smaller team, the only time that I suport this is if it's a clan. KoS vs all, AK vs all etc. One thing that I hate is when people do that, and then have Kit Restrictions on, I've seen so many people ( You know who you are ), Block HB sencors when they do their 2v8s or whatever, I think that if their going to do a 2v8, then they should be able to win with everything on, not have to ban things to give them an advantage.

HBS is cheap, along with C4, and the big clips(though fun at times if used correctly). If HBS is enabled, it would be an advantage for the better players, since most noobs don't use jammers.

i haven't used a jammer in a few weeks cause i'm always on a the team of leets. if we could just give seminars about HBSjammers to noobs... it would jazz things up a bit.

I don't mind if it's a clan vs, like Typhy said. But, the Kit restrictions on items such as Jammers like PSYKS uses when it's the -|U|- guys vs. is very cheap. while we can hb them also, it takes away our advantage of having all the guys, no matter how crappy, and lets them get a position on most of us with their hb's all throughout the board

My personal opinion, is that HB Sencors etc. Should be on in all games, I don't know if this is because I am a cb player, or what, I think that it adds to the game. If a few people want to do 3v8 etc. Then they should learn to do it with everything on, Lag guns are a exception, they should be turned off if lag is a problem.

    You know, this thread reminded me of my n00b Academy. I started making a web site which explains basic tactics (stuff like don't climb ladders, don't stand behind the guy opening the door, etc.) and more advanced stuff, like dodging, and charging towards grenades in certain situations. Unsurprisingly, it was far too much work for me to complete, but since everybody's putting their two cents in about tactics, why not write something for the site?

    Let's spread the word about the leet skills in order to raise the general level of RS skill on GR. Especially with the IRSL coming up, this may make things more fun for all involved.

    Write me something--an article, a paragraph, anything--about your tactics or a favorite tactic, and either PM it to me through the forum or send it to me at mrlothario@san.rr.com . Write about how to pick the best gun, or how to outthink your enemy, or how to snipe in Bunkers, or what not to do in CSL and why... anything. Give me verbiage, and I shall whore my site for the benefit of all! ::strikes heroic pose, theme music plays in background:: Hehe.

    Hehe. My pleasure. That reminds me, does anyone know how to modify the "game starting" text in RS? The "Mission starting in 5 seconds" "mission starting in 4 seconds", etc. stuff. If anybody could enlighten me, I'd be much obliged. : )

I think the best rs host for americans is danny-rnt I get like like a 05 ping from him sometimes once i got 3 but no. But that was only once its like he lives right next door to me or something and i have no idea who he is.

Open up the "r6_strings_table.txt" file(Rogue Spear Data:data:text:interface:english:r6_strings_table.txt) in your favorite text editor(BBedit prefered). Scroll down around 2000 lines and you'll find the text under "MP SESSION". Have fun...

omfg, as tempting as it is i wont join his games anymore because of this. One time in band camp, lol, nm j/k, i sat there for 5 minute while he set up a C4 trap with 3rd person, man i was pissed, but i still get around a 30 ping from him even thought he is THE WORST HOST EVER!!!

can anyone confirm that rob is that newb that came on 2 months ago and had in his description dual g4 cable connection and his name was just robert and could host 16 person games with no lag?

Oh yeah, with laggy ass games and long C4 drawn out matches that are just sooooooo g'damn boring.  Not to mention how mad he gets when you kill him constantly! LoL!  Maybe one day his nuts will drop and he'll come CB like a real clan

I personally don't know who the best host is, for they all vary from day to day.  The best host is the one pinging under 100

haha 1st off IF you killed rob, he wouldnt get mad at all, cuz when he is c4ing, he is just having fun, cuz he is bored and honestly doesnt give 2 shits about dying.

2nd, rapid you couldnt kill rob constantly even if he just used a pistol and you used a SMG. which brings me to this point, YOU (rapid) 1v1ed with Rob and rob whooped you 6-1 so uh yea , you sure can kill rob.

and 3rd, ooa already cbed Ak and ooa beat you guys. so if you are implying that they should cb you guys, they did and won at it too.

so anyways to keep this thread on topic, i think the best host are Robs , cuz it is fun. he runs it the way i do =D, with only his friends on his team and people he doesnt know on the other =D.

rob's host is the best, and most camping sprees are out of bordom. i guess its only fun for oso and me cause we end up playing on rob's team
