On behalf of the ATWAR staff, my sincerest apologies for the file interupt downloads that have been occurring as of late. ?Our server is privately owned and with a bandwidth of only 512k up/down, our 12.6mb ST6 download really stretched the system to its limits. ?Our mod is available for download through the gracious offerings of PiesTactics.com. ?We'll be posting the names of additional mirrored sites as well at http://atwar.topcities.com ~ Furthermore, we'll be moving our server to the GameSpy network via PlanetRainbowSix.com/ATWAR near the end of this week. ?Looks like we've actually run out of space there! ?Wink

Again, my apologies. ?Please go to the ATWAR forums to post your grievances, comments, opinions etc ~ we'd really like to hear from you all.

And thanks Coco for the heads up ~ you've been a great collaborative partner and we hope to do more work with you!

OK, I took a close look at the mod. I must say I really like the skins. Some operatives faces look a little distorted but other then that it's great.

Now for the map. It's just not what I like. To DAMN much sniping going on. I mean far off sniping too. I onlt play sp and when the tangos snipe me from what looks like a mile away, hell it's nopt my thing. I can not even see the tangos with my scope.

So this one most likely will not stay on my pc.

Thanks guys. Wink

All i can say is WOW..... this mod is gonna park in my HD!

Paladin, sorry to here u didnt like it...i agree the missions are very tough SP. All of the mission makers are hard core MP coop players who play very regularly and use Voice comunications. So the missions we create often require intense teamwork and coordination to succeed...requiring a mix of snipers and CQC specialists to complete them. I guess its hard to do this when u have to rely on 7 AI(artificial idiots)....

Believe me, the missions were actually harder in the beta version than the final version...we had to tone em down cause even our guys found it hard.

the random hunt missions are easier - tangos here have no preprogrammed plans and thus no snipers. I would recommend using a weapon mod with a good sniping rifle as primary and a assault/SMG for secondary...pistols are fairly useless in a large map.

Again...sorry u didnt like it...but we made it to the level we enjoyed playing at

No problems DLing whatsoever here.  Install went just fine, too.  As far as the map and missions, it is CHALLENGING (read HARD!!). The skins.  The skins are just AWESOME, as expected Wink
Thanks, guys, really good job!  Grin

I totally agree with you. I also enjoy a difficult mission but this one is mission impossible. I never even got out of the water so I could enjoy the rest of the map!! O' well I had to uninstall it. Man those tangos are all expert snipers/marksman and BULLET PROOF!!!

no, they're not bullet proof, i got em scramblin outta the compound and picked off a couple with MP5-A5, an LA gun from the SWAT mod i thought looked good with the wetsuit.

but they're so well camo'd that all u can do is look for ANY MOVEMENT WHATSOEVER within the clutter... and mow it down. since i cant tell how many there are, i find myself taking 3 sets of mags just to last for a few more seconds before i finally get it. (repeat process with next team/operative).

We kinda figured the missions should be deserving of dropping a SEAL team into. If familiar with the USN SEALs, you know these dudes are, without question, the elite of the elite.

There's an excellent documentary running on Discovery channel currently about them. Out of 1000 applicants for BUDS training, only 15% are accepted. Out of those, 75% are eliminated for some reason or the other.

If the missions were cakewalks SEALs wouldn't be required. SEALs are what we drop in when we feel nothing else will manage the task. Smiley

However, for future missions for our upcoming maps, we plan to tone down at least the easy difficulty levels. (Most of the current ST6 missions do have difficulty settings, which we may have forgot to mention in the docs.)

Mission: Random Tango Hunt
Difficulty: Rookie
Set no. of tangos to 15-20

Get a sniper rifle and silenced scoped SMG...

Head to the highest point on the hill overlooking the rebel base. Make sure u clear the hilltop off tangos first. Snipe the base from there...fling a frag towards the base to draw out more..and snipe

head to the back of the base and infiltrate thru the back door using your SD SMG..the rest of the script is up to you

That was my fault... ?sorry, forgot to mention (in the Readme doc) that the missions have difficulty settings enabled ~ although, I'd expect any veteran RS player to consistently have their RS settings always on the "elite" level. ?Personally though, when I feel like winning, I usually hit the "rookie" button ~ ?Wink

But as some added shameless self-promotion, I always go into battle with Coco and Cobra6's HK ITD v2.0 mod to lay waste to those unforgiving tangos! ?Try it out, it'll definitely make a difference!

Ahh, also forgot to mention the tip of the day...

In ST6's Torrent Advance mission, if you're playing single player, commit five members of your team to blitz to the left upon start, and head straight for the huge rock in the water (your cover).  Commit the other three team members to the first hut south of the spawn point (they'll draw some severe firepower, but your team at the rock will now have a chance to snipe away at the hillside (snipe from left to right).  On the "rookie" setting, your entire team will have a minimum 27 second window to get to appropriate cover...  in the "elite" setting, well...  you're guaranteed a twenty second window IF you commit your plans to the west (left) of your start point.

Okay, that's all the hints for now...  if you all want an inside tip for the Dauntless Fire mission, let me know ~  Wink
