I was doing a little reading and lo and behold did I just run into a doozy!

Army raises maximum age again for new recruits

By WILL DUNHAM
Reuters News Service

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Army, aiming to make its recruiting goals amid the Iraq war, raised its maximum enlistment age by another two years Wednesday.

People can now volunteer to serve in the active-duty Army or the part-time Army Reserve and National Guard up to their 42nd birthday, officials said.

It marked the second time this year the Army has boosted the maximum age for new volunteers, raising the ceiling from age 35 to 40 in January.

The Army Reserve is a part-time force of federal troops who can be summoned to active duty. The Army National Guard is another part-time force whose soldiers are under the command of state governors for use in emergencies but also can be mobilized to active duty.

Julia Bobick, an Army Recruiting Command spokeswoman, said the decision to raise the maximum enlistment age "is not an act of desperation" but rather the latest prudent step intended to attract qualified recruits.

Older recruits must pass the same physical standards and medical examination as younger ones, the Army said. However, those between 40 and 42 will face additional cardiovascular screening, Bobick said.

Hmm so I guess "The Army of One" has become "The Army of Geriatrics".

I agree sheix. We have turned the country over to UN control. We are supposed to be withdrawing slowly from the area... Then why are more recruits needed? A forecast of another war is almost definite.

There is no wonder if you can. I was accepted at the age of 38 to go into the Active Reserves upon completion of a physical given to make a little extra $$$. I lost my time-in-rank, but kept my rank. I wouldn't serve under this worthless P-O-S so-called "Commander-in-Chief". If this so called "War on Terror" is so important then drag those 2 little Bush Kiddies

and make THEM SERVE!

These 2 Fart-Tards we have in the White House are 2 of the Biggest ChickenHawk/ CUT AND RUNNERS that couldn't find a clue even if they were locked in a friggin' Clue Closet. Oh sure Mr Dubya went to Irag (5HRS) and stayed within the "Green-Zone". Get his ass out pass the gate inside one of those wonderful Non-Armor Protected Humvee's and take a tour of the wonder things happening with "Democracy" in the air. Yea..that would make a nice "Photo-Op".. Dubya looking like Patton.

BTW GS..see this man?:

This is Col. John Wicks. At 68, John Wicks may look the part of grandfather, but at Fort Bliss, Texas, this man, old enough to collect Medicare, is in training for the part of warrior. And he is doing it at the Pentagon's request. Col. Wicks says, "I wouldn't have felt right saying no."

Two years shy of his 70th birthday, he's one of the oldest soldiers ever to be deployed to Iraq. Coaxed out of retirement to fill a desperate need.

Col.Wicks, a psychiatrist at North Alabama Regional Hospital in Decatur, volunteered to serve in Iraq last fall and was called up a few months later. In July, the retired National Guard colonel arrived at a base in Bilad, Iraq, where he evaluated soldiers for post-combat stress.

A blood clot in his leg from dehydration forced him to return to Fort Bliss for treatment. And while his family was excited to have him home for the holidays, he had hoped to stay in Iraq until at least January.

How scary would it be for what is said in this documentary to be true. Yes, it's long... but if you watch past the first 15 minutes, you will not be able to stop. You may call it a lame conspriracy clip...but heck, it was well done. Now, watch the whole thing and tell me what you really think....:
