all their songs are based on the same simple formula, the bass lines get repetitive real quick. i mean, yeah they have some pretty fun songs, but none of them are worthy of the respect they get. if their singer didn't die, their stuff wouldn't have been appreciated so much because they'd still be making the same damn record over again. some of my friends think them and 311 are like the greatest bands...

Listening to "Up To Me" by Seven Nations. Another excellent Celtic Rock band! And, yes, 311 is very overrated, especially among my friends. Sure, the band is good (great bass player, but he's still way overrated Wink ), but the singer(s)... My God. So UGH. Annoying. Ugh. Can't stand that rapping garbage. wallbashing To each his own, I guess.

Retards make bands "over-rated". Music is music.... I'm a bassist and sublime gives me a whole bunch of fun shit to play. Any band that is famous is "over-rated" If you put it that way.

Jaco is inspirational. James Jamerson is inspirational. Sublime never really did it for me, but then again everyone's different. Arguing about taste is just as bad as arguing about religion. Unless the band really sucks, like...well I'm too tired to think of a really crappy band, so I'll throw in The White Stripes. First band to come to mind.

GS, tell Mr. Lenny to start writing his own music instead of buying old shit and then listen to it.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with a well-done remake...just look at all the Beatles music that has been remade in the last 40 years.[/size]

Sublime are the most overrated mother fuckers ever. Just listen to old school reggae, like Peter Tosh, and the Toots and the Maytals, and you will realize that sublime is just a glorified cover band.  I'd say a good 50% of their good songs are complete rip offs of old school Jamican reggae, and riping off old music takes no talent.

I used to like sublime, dont get me wrong they have some catchy songs, but a lot of people worship them like they are the greatest band ever.  As for what bands I listen to, I dont know where to begin. I listen to a lot of different music, at the moment I'm listening to a death metal band called eighteen visions.  But the latest reggae stuff I've been listing to are 10ft ganja plant, which is a reggae band out of new york who do a lot of instrumentals, and a band called katchafire from new zealand.
