will jacob's vest

Ive been trying for about 2 weeks to make a desert version of will jacob's vest with no success. trying to recolor it using the tips I got in another topic and it just doesnt look right.

could anyone assist., any tutes, a quick n dirty sample or the whole damn thing, any help will be appreciated.

Quick and dirty:
Put the camo you want it to be as one layer. Make a new layer and copy the vest into that one. Then cut or erase out the "cloth" parts of the vest leaving the details you want behind. When you get the look you want, merge the layers and add it to your skin
