Oh it's for real, and I am sad to say, a smart decision.  Software gaming companies would rather support console gaming due to piracy.  They can actually estimate and ensure the true sales of the product and the amount of income that will result of it.  Most computer games go way under expectation because of the copy and burn logic.

It is just another direct result of piracy.  Sooner or later these gaming machines will be better than computers anyways.  If you haven't noticed, with the advent of network gaming for these devices there is really no need to make computer games anymore.  They would like to seperate the price of the gaming console and the high market gaming tower.  This ensures much better sales for the masses and not just those who can afford high end machines.  It also controls the amount of diversity the games have to be programmed for.

So begins the era of the non fun personal computer, enter the era of the just work machine.

     Modded XBoxes are entirely compatible with piracy, and the same is true of modded PS2s. The only piracy-free console at present is the GameCube, and that's because Nintendo went with the custom-manufactured mini DVDs specifically to prevent ripping.

The only concerning thing is that ubi seems to be walking around, thinking that they know how to deliver a game without bugs... silly ubi.

Oh what fun it is to see pc players pissed off that they won't get their game for a long time; HOW DO YOU LIKE IT WHORES?!

But then I realize we will get the game a year after they get it, so whatever.
