Leaving GR for gamesmith?

I've heard a lot of people with hate against GR lately so are any of you just gonna drop Gameranger and swith to Gamesmith most of the time?

Speaking as one who has no GameRanger to leave... of course I will. But I think that most of them will either get ban from GameRanger and come to Gamesmith for that reason, or just use both equaly depending on what their friends are using, also, where there are the best RS games.

Typhy is right, for those that got banned they really haev no option. I will probably use both equally in the beginning then drift away to one or the other. I have hope in Game Smith.

From the looks of it so far, he's gonna be like Scott in one way, that was is never updating his site. It still says it was supose to be released at Mac World NY.

We will have another place to hang out and not worry about a Ban Happy Administrator with a bad attitude.  It's really sad that Evill can't just be happy that a community was formed thanks to his service.  Instead he dislikes the WHOLE RS and R6 Community and is publicly announcing it everytime he comes to our hangout spot, the bar & grill.  He feels his dislike of our community affects him so much, that he chooses to ban our players for the shittiest, smallest reasons he can think of.  I find that he's only hurting himself and soon his attitude will backfire on him.  It pays off to be nice to your supporters, and that's one thing Evill hasn't learned yet.  Poor guy!

Last night Evill told me he was planing on preventing IP joining.

As soon as he does that I'll be ready to change.

To bad for him that there is nothing that he can do to prevent IP joining sence IP joining is part of RS and not part of GameRanger, he can prevent GameRanger from allowing you to recive peoples IPs, but he can't make it so that you can't have the host give it to you.

I know one of the creators/designers of Gamesmith.  He is really nice and helpful to me about it.  I will tell you all as soon as it comes out.  I intend to use both, but now it won't matter if I get banned from GR.

You use port 15000 to join IP games.

Thats a GR port.

Gamesmith is horsepoo....they will never be able to get the interface between macs and pc's right....plus a lot of pc games won't be supported and that will turn pc users away...they are already content with gamespy and others...and mauti nice smilies

To bad that he has to use a port to have RS run through his system, perhaps he could make in harder to find out, but people would find it, there is nothing that little weasle can do to prevent me from IP joining games.

Well, to host RS games, he has to have a port, all that gameranger does is connect to the server in a more efficinant way than through IP joining, he still must use a port.
