'wrote this guide while hungover and having nothing else to do but puking. It's a decent read, covering some more "advanced" aspects of sniping.

My sniping prowess comes from my ability to blend in well with my environment, mainly using shadows and foliage to my advantage, and the words I snipe by..."Shoot and move, shoot and move, shoot and move." Also, I'm not a traditional sniper, taking into battle an M24, or an SRS....instead I prefer to be a tactical sniper, so I normally take a SOCOM M4, OICW, or SA80. There is something to be said for taking a weapon into battle that you are both proficient at sniping with, and proficient at close quarters combat with. w00t!

Very true, GhostSniper. Many more weapons than those specially built to fit the name "sniper rifle" can be well used to snipe with.
And I couldn't possibly agree more with "Shoot and move, shoot and move, shoot and move", as stated in the Handbook.

Without doubt the OLCW is my perfered weapon for those 'sniping' moments - ive often found its more a matter of your speed and ability to locate a enemy target over a large distance with poor vis at speed rather than it is to have the overwhelming accuracy 20seonds later!
and everyone knows i love a good *cough* bush

Mmm.. I believe it's "OICW", mate. With an "i", not "l".
Yes, the OICW can be put to good use, but then it does lack the scope and accuracy of true sniper rifles, which is many cases is preferred. It's all a huge dilemma - which weapon to use when.

You don't know how many times I've told him that, just doesn't get into his thick head.

Ya i read the The Handbook of True Sniping too,
BTW im not a wannabe
im sniping since the beginning, since Ghr came out, i was so looking forward to the released of Ghr that i pre-mail order the game,
Also , One shot, Two kill can be true,
after years of sniping, i learn to not be too close to the tango and if you spot a tango , the chances are that theres another one near him, i wait, i scan around, locate the second tango, still waiting,
the chances are good that one tango will pass in front of the other one, and then i shoot,
my bullet will go right through the first one and kill the second one.
i dont mind waiting and getting less kill than the auto gun maniacs. often i survive them, finish the map for them, and i get almost perfect 100% accuracy.
Here is a little (i think is flash) presentation on snipers.
http://host284.ipowerweb.com/~sniperta/themovie.htm
i hope you enjoy it and get a better opinion about snipers.

Very Nice Post...I have always loved the sniper...its a very complex yet thinking position.....
Takes patience and skill....Which most lack...7.62 mm is my choice....and on Long Open Roads...M82,,,it kicks..but i dont misss....so it works out well...
