Please post your rule suggestions and experiences here. Further you can use the posted ideas and setups for your cbs in the BF1942 Test Ladder.

Please don't forget to leave feedback so we know which setups work and which don't.

You can already find some rule/setup suggestions in this thread.

Thanks,

Mauti

Loving it - ok not the best graphics, but if your talking team tatics etc then this is the daddy. - One thing though, for decent CB's you'd want at least the very minimum of 12 players (personally i think u want more like 30 or 40! Cheesy

... perhaps clans could team up together - 3 clans v 3clans

Since we did the first BF cb here are our settings and experiences:

We used Desert Combat as mod. Game Mode: Conquest.

4vs4. We advise that you don't take a map with more than 3 flag points with such a small number of players or otherwise the cb will be just about flag hopping without enemy contact.

All settings as standard except we changed the respawn time to 1 sec, which wasn't a good decision from us, so we change this to 10secs for our next cb.

We played on 1 map/1host. Each clan plays each side. 20 mins or when one team loses all tickets. The winner is who has the most tickets after the 2 rounds. So it is important that you play on the same map.

The cb was very fun the only disadvantage is that you have to agree on 1 map with this setup.

Any clan that wanna challenge us to a 4vs4: damnr6@planetrainbowsix.com

We can host on a PC with a 2Mbit SDSL connection(same speed up & down)

Bye,

Mauti

and what about my Torrents??? Shocked

ahem....

We played on El Alamein day one, which was a very good choice. Jets, Helis and tanks. Although quite big, the map is well playable with 8 players.

The problem with BF is that you nevertheless need as many players as possible.

Bah im not gonna quote that flies sized post  Wink

This is pretty much the setup we had in mind but for the cb on sunday this is what we have agreed to play....

The cb will consist of 3 rounds and take place on a single map..
The first 2 rounds will be played a side each.

Then if all is square the team with the highest points difference will get to choose the side they play for the final deciding round.

The winner will be decided by rounds. (2-0 or 2-1)

Though playing the cb on one map didnt sound good to me at first i can see that it does work well...

But something that would need to be decided and made very clear is who gets the map choice?

Yeah i think there is a problem with the tickets in the mac version.

Going through some of the maps with the tickets at 100% they seem to have a very low number of tickets for the map size.

For example El alamein at 100% tickets are about 60 which seems very low for a map of that size..

Maybe aspyr will fix this in the upcoming patch..

Sinister and Flies did you make sure that you have used the Conquest Mode? Because we noticed that if you e.g. select team deathmatch you have much less tickets.

bye,

Mauti

Well.. I tell you.. I have been playing on alot of CTF server (mostly on the berlin map useing the DC mod).. And i have to say..what a gread mode to play BF in.. I have played CTF on alot of other games and it not be fun.. but in BF CTF is realy nice. Though most of the ctf games i have played have been in one fairly large server (the same one i play every night).

Oh.... and the dc mods and a few other mods outthere.... does anyone have a currently running (like a well seeded) torrent that someone can get these mods with (a few of the BTs Guys need the mod so they can start playing)

If i knew we would get a fair amount of use out of it i would be willing to rent a server for us and others to use for general use and league cbs.

But everyone would need to have their games "fully functional" for that to work.. Wink
