Hey fellas,

I used to use Entourage before I switched over to Mail very recently and I must say that although I like the simplicity of Apple, as usual, I am starting to not be impressed by its performance.  I have both Mail and Ent.  set-up on my mac to receive and send email and I have noticed that Ent. always receives ALL email that is sent to me and Mail is still a couple days behind of email that I know was sent b/c I received it in Entourage.  Now, I know what yer thinking, "if you retrieved it in Ent. then you won't get it in Mail"...wrong, you can get the SAME email in both, I tested it many times by emailing myself and from my bros mac and from my web based email from my assigned university account.  So what gives??

If i was going to pick any of the Apple Apps that needed a major make over it would be Mail - there simply do seem to be a lot of bugs and glitches and problems.... It really needs a full upgrade and overhaul - so many excellent features and integration but want more. I woun't go back to expres or Entourage though Smiley

Entourage wins straight up. The new 2004 version of Entourage pretty much crushes any opponent, including Apple's Mail.

Heh, what I didn't know about Mail is that it actually has a capacity.  Being I use my mac for here at work  most of the time, I get about 800 emails a week and some are stuffed with pretty large graphic files.  Well, one day mail decided it was full and didn't want to play anymore, so the little task spinning icon piece of shit just kept going and going for about a weekend (I wanted to test the limits of this mofo). To no avail, the goddamn thing never stopped.

So I checked around and basically decided I had to rebuild the mailbox, my last option.  So I did it, everything got deleted and I lost tons of info that I needed.  Piece of shit program does need to be fixed.  Plus there are about 10 other bugs I found, but apple didn't know what to do about them, so I switched back to entourage and have been happy since.  I just wonder why apple keeps updating the iLife crap and doesn't get around to reworking it's mail app.  Damn them.

I only use Apple's Mail, because
a) it was the only mail program I had when I started using OS X (before I used Outlook Express)
b) i don't want Microsoft software on my comp.

until now, it mail has never let me down.
