Well.. The new vid card came in.... So far it is sweet.. But im still testing its abilities

Yarr...just in time for the ATi X800 release on the PC side (which is generally twice as fast as the 9800).  Hope they can catch us up a bit here, and will get this out for the Mac ASAP.

Well.. I have been having prob out of the 9800 pro mac se.. And i talked to ATI earlier this week about it... After they got me to one of the head Mac techs for it.. What we found out was that apple released 10.3.4 a week b4 they got the 9800 pro to the stores... apple had already put new driver for the 9800 se in 10.3.4
but through miscomunication ATI released a new driver for the card a week after the stored got it.. on the driver discription on the ati site it said for use w/ 10.2.? and 10.3.3.. So i installed it to see if it had inproved anything (i figuered that sence 10.3.4 was released a few weeks b4 that this might add something) but come to find out.. the driver that they released does not work right with 10.3.4 due to some openGL conficts.
so now they told me to reinstall pnather onto my system or wait for a fix or a new driver from them.. I said I would wait.. and they got back to me yesterday that they had found out that all i needed to do to get it reinstalled was to run the 10.3.4 update again from apple...

after I had told them about my prob with the card..


so now im going to give you guy a report on this new card as soon as i can get the time to do the re-update.. (on suday prolly).. but so far it been sweet.. except for the slight prob i was having w/ the driver conflicts. They did tell me that all the funcionality of the card is not fully inplace due to the fact that mac does not have many programs out yet wrtten to support all of its abilities.... But so far I have been very pleased w/ there support from the techs at ATI

well I could not wait till sunday.. I re installed 10.3.4 and it didnt fix the prob.... I guess it didnt overide the driver i installed.... oh well.. looks like i will be back on the phone w/ ati on monday to tell them that the fix they put on the web site does not work and to get a time frame on when they expect the new driver to come out......
