What good is life if you don't have freedom?

Just wondering what the reaction to this would be.

From yahoo! news:
>>>
Bush put on a slide show, calling it the "White House Election-Year Album" at the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association 60th annual dinner, showing himself and his staff in some decidedly unflattering poses.

There was Bush looking under furniture in a fruitless, frustrating search. "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere," he said.

Personally, I don't think this is funny at all. Here we have a President making fun of a serious situation where American lives have been lost and are still being lost daily. This is completely tastless and illustrates how little grasp he seems to have on our current world situation. Which is especially troubling because I think he lied to get us there in the first place.

Oh, sorry, didn't see the thread.

So what's the problem?  He is making a joke out of something that you guys say were never there anyway.  The really sad part is that they were there, and now they are somewhere else....my guess would be Syria.  But the left in this country is too busy saying they weren't there at all to stop and realize that they had to be.  And now they could be in the hands of some really dangerous people.

GS, logical question:
What happened to "Innocent until proven guilty"?
Until weapons are found how do we know that Sadam ever had them? How do we know that he gave them to Syria? How do we know Syria didn't make the weapons, given we find any?

Those all follow innocent 'til proven guilty. Proof is the key, and we haven't sene any real proof yet...riddle me that.

Myst, this is not a court of law, this is global politics. Innocent until proven guilty doesn't apply here. But some proof would be nice before we decide to invade the next middle-eastern shithole.

GS, very nice spin. I talk about how Bush is making light of a situation that's costing American Servicemen (your brothers in arms) their lives and you talk about where the "weapons", if there ever were any, could be now. Let's try a bit harder next time to confuse the issue though, I was still able to remember what this thread was about.

It's a secondary concern to me wether or not there were weapons, the issue at hand is that Bush thinks it's a joke that Americans are dying in Iraq. It's that simple.

lol so true cossack.... dosn't mean he had them when we invaded though.. Hell he didn't have any when we left after the first invasion, who's to say he acquired anything since then? And after all the searching not one speck of evidence has been found that say's they actually have had them, or been able to research making them since! .... as far as im aware
