Dell is on Apple's heels, they are releasing their own Music Store also soon.  But, this is great news, we beat Dell in the race of Music Stores!  Hopefully, a majority of the PC world accepts it and uses it to "legally" get music.

I just heard that Apple's iTunes Music Store has been responsible for 70% of all downloaded music (paid for) on the internet.  And that's with just a 5% market share able to use it.

I'd say Dell has a long way to go to catch up.

Haven't gotten my roommate to download iTunes just yet.  Don't worry though, I'll annoy him to the point that he'll break and try it out.  Grin

I've got myself a little PC laptop, and dled it.  it works pretty much the same as it's mac counterpart.  the only drawback is that it doesn't support .wma, so anything that was imported windows media player, is unplayable.

Why would you have WMA songs? If you do infact have the CD they came from then iTunes can import them. Unless ofcorse you decided to use a certian type of bad application... Angry

If you are looking to play internet, true free, audio content you can use WMP. I see no need to use a music application for that.

Just curious Splinter, why would you import them as a wma in the first place?  My opinion, but it's  not a great standard anyway.

.wma sucks, and that program is a monster, iTunes is a trojan horse, sneek in there and convert unsuspecting PC users, at least it will sell more iPods, and all the current windows iPod users will be very happy.

I love how apple made the 'move everything to the iTunes library and catalogue them according to ID3 tags' default on the windows version. A lot of PC users are pissed 'cos of it Smiley

Bucc, I wouldn't say wma is actually a standard at all, it's a pos Wink

Anyone who imports audio using wma is retarded. The mp3 standard has been around for ages, why suddenly jump onto some standard that only MS (with ass lackeys) supports?

Some interesting things I noticed when I installed itunes on my pc.

All the songs I brought from my G4 to my PC carried music covers and my ratings. Also, when I first loaded up itunes for the first time on my pc, it had all my brother's music on it ( using the ip stream thingy). I never had to type in his ip or anything cuz all my prefs from back when I was using itunes on my mac were transfered over in the music.

My brother and I were amazed. Bravo to Apple!  Cheesy

Ultimo, it's all thanks to rendezvous.. and album covers are all fixed in the ID3 tag, don't think the ratings are though, so that sounds weird..
