I bought a new rig and got Windows XP with it. Despite all the reports, I have been able to install and play almost every game I own including Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear/Urban Ops. Just one little problem-the weapon sound is not audible. I can hear the voices, and even reloads, but when I shoot almost nothing.

US TAC MOD is my fav. So I was wondering if anyone might be able to explain what happenings and a possible solution. I was thinking maybe I should re-compress the weapons sound, but I'm not sure if that would solve the problem.

System Spec

OS: Windows XP
Processor: Athlon XP 1700 (1.47gig MHz)
Memory: 256mb DDR SDRAM
Motherboard: Soyo SY-K7V Dragon Plus
Video Card: 64mb GeForce 3 Tit200
Sound Card: Intergrated CMI8738 PCI-Based C3DX Audio with EAX, Karaoke, and alot of other support stuff I know little about.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Problem could be your sound driver. I installed XP on a friend's machine and it did play RS, but the performance wasn't as good for some reason, and it's an identical Dell as the one I have, using 98. I like XP but when it comes to OS's, me bein a tech and all, I usually wait quite a while to see how it goes... Great OS if you are gonna hook up a lil LAN tho..

Good, thanks Cake.

i just needed a second positive opinion besides the salesman at CompUsa. he said it was good but for all i knew he was just trying to sell it and get commission. After my cousin managed to sell a lifetime warranty with a vacuum cleaner that already had one... ?Shocked Shocked Shocked
