Awards, Hall of Fame and Statistics
«

Alright my first entry about new features of the *DBL 2.0:
In the current *DBL we have a very simple Hall of Fame with only the winners of our main ladders.
In the *DBL 2.0 you can earn awards, kinda stars and stripes for your clan. You earn awards for a lot of different things like:
Rookie Award: Playing more than 50cbs
Veteran Award: Playing more than 100cbs
Pro Award: Playing more than 500cbs
1st place season award
2nd place season award
3rd place season award
1st place Year champion award(more about that in another topic)
Tourney award
Most active clan in a season award
Winning all subladders of a game award
Most won awards award
....
You get the idea. The awards will be added to the Hall of Fame and to the *DBL clan website(more about that in another topic).
Further the Hall of Fame will become a statistical center where all data will be presented like Most cbs played by one clan in a season, best winning streak, best players,....
There will be overall records, and records listed by game and season.
The idea behind the awards is to form a clan that achieves something together that goes beyond the length of a season, and something that can be seen by everyone. Further the awards will be helpful for making automated qualification tourney rules.
Last but not least statistics will also be available for players and maybe even certain team combinations of a clan.
So far a quick overview about awards, hall of fame and statistics.
Bye,
Mauti

What about a "Most FFA's Played Award"...

To clarify; these awards will be as on now forward or will they date back to the "pre-season"?
(less serious part begins)
Along the lines of GS, there should be an award for the "Most years played without ever winning a damn thing"
... that or one for the good ol days of clanwhoring.

@ GS: of course there will be also FFA Awards
With the *DBL 2.0 we start from scratch with an empty cb database and season I. However there will be a link to the old Hall of Fame.

Ghost, not entirely true. For example, the Rocket Richard Trophy (Player who scores most [NHL]) doesn't devalue the Stanley Cup (Winners overall [NHL]).

"more awards = less value !!!"
Well the awards are like decorations that have been earned. Further based on the decorations you have earned you can increase your rank.
It will be like the forum member categories: "Full Member", "God save the Royal Whorealots". You get these titles when you have achieved a common goal.
So each one will be very important to get your clan as high as possible. Further it won't be presented like a long list as it is now. I don't think it will shrink the value, because the awards are usually very different.

I think this will boost the activity slightly with players making a bigger contribution to play cbs and get the ultimate award of 500 cbs. I think this is a great idea.

I'd like to see an award for players that stay with the same clan for a long period of time, in recognition to loyalty and clan pride. Sort of an incentive for not changing from clan to clan every so often, etc.
To answer Ghost, recognitions are incentives for people, and people need them to feel motivated. You are recognizing different areas of the BL, therefore they do not diminish the overall value of any other award.
My question is, where is Ghostsniper going to fit all of those bars and stars?

The 500 CB's award is ridiculous, noone is ever going to reach that, if a person averages 20 CB's per season they will not reach 500 until 25 seasons from now which is probably equal to about 10 years. You should rename it the "Last Man Standing" award for person who can put up playing Ghr for 10 years strait.
500 is an unreachable # it should be more like 200. Even 200 is sick if you plan on playing Ghr for another 5 years.

Heh, Punish, I like that "Last man Standing"
I think Mauti is trowing out an idea, the number of CBs per award was just that, an idea.... So I suspect if this were to come through, the numbers would be tweaked to reality.

Maybe there could be an award called the 'Golden Gun' where if the player has the best winrate and has played 5 or more cbs in a season they could be given this award.

Thanks Tiro,
yes those numbers are just examples. However Po)| played 290 GhR cbs until today, Animals played appr. 210,… So 500 wouldn't be that bad.
About the player rewards - yes there will be plenty of single player rewards. At all the *DBL will be user(player) centric. There will be very detailed player stats. So also special events like allstar games can be realised easily.
The things I post here, should give you an idea where the *DBL will go in the future. Values are just examples.
Good night,
Mauti
