Well, if by "old school mac gaming community" you mean that I was playing games on a 128k Mac in 1984, then yes, that applies to me.

Of course, if you are referring to people who were playing R6 back before Ghost Recon came out (cough--NOT THAT LONG AGO), then I guess it doesn't apply to me.

However, all that said, I am still doing the Fleet Sales Manager thing and helping to rebuild the MS Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina.[/size]

Now i always stay off these forums due to the immense amount of ignorance i see from it, but for the record Im sure Rebel knew he was banned just like everyone else so don't start any Typhy bashing of any kind. I cant stand it, It's over and done with no questions asked.

As for me i have really given up on gaming ever since some things happened and my glory was taken from me like it wasn't mine to keep. I now enjoy having a life away from a meaningless computer and a community which 80% people are heartless know it all jerks. For the ones i do like you guys are the best, and i wish you nothing but the best.

Working, partying, sleeping. Once every month or two I'll pick up a dusty game and play. I do check the forums once a week or so to see what's new, but that's about it.

Uhhh i check GR everyday for an RS game but nobody seems to play anymore....but im always around.

Welp, I've just come back to the wonderful world of our beloved gaming community, after a 1 year lay off due to work.  Omfg, there are more nOObs than nips to go around.  Few old schoolers left which is the reason im still playing.  Takin up RVS now , but not the same as RS ( greatest game of all time ).  ;). I'm still chugging along with work, building, selling and training in the parachute industry.  Do alot of wakeboarding in my spare time now, when i'm not gaming.  Family, work, outdoor activities, jesus its a wonder how I can ever come on line when I do.  Glad to see you doing well ReB!  I'll actually be seeing J.Damon this Thursday in an exhibition game.  WubZ to all my R6 , RS Old Schoolers I consider buddies  ;D ;D    Remember!  Your not drunk if you can lay on the ground without holding on!      FLiPPerZ

     Woot, first time I've checked the DAMN forum in months, and what do I find? A thread wondering where I've been. I feel so loved.

     I've still got my 733 G4, top of the line c. 2001, so I don't do much Mac gaming any more. The PC I'm on is a POS, so I don't do too much PC gaming either, excepting Neverwinter Nights. When I upgrade, Battlefield 2 is first on my list. I'm gunnin' for you, Jeb!

     Working as a security guard at a retirement home. In other words, I'm getting paid for breathing. I dig it.

Wow, both Loth and I show up in the same week after ages out. I actually came back to message Mauti and decided I'd poke my head in the door as it were.

So...graduated from university with my BA...decided to go right back for a Ph.D. in Political Science. They basically pay me to go to school now so it works for me. Going to become a professor so school is something I've grown used to.

Not playing computer games and pretty much stopped video games period. School forces me to pretty much focus on books and research. Movies are pretty much my sole entertainment source now. But then, I like my job.

Well, as for me I skipped Ghost Recon (you know, that game where we learned how to crouch :p). Never liked it anyway, It's been 2 years now I think.

Raven Shield: sigh... I still try no to get PWND, and I notice some noobs are still crouching, prolly a GhR disease. Fun tho when we play some R6/RS maps, brings back good old times!!!!

As for me, I'll be graduating from college in about a month.  I'm pretty excited.  I'm applying for software engineering positions at Apple and a couple game development studios, so we'll see how things pan out over the next few months.

Last time I talked to Timo he said he was becoming one of New York's Finest. He's still playing PC games I believe too.

blake: just finished my first year at Northeastern University about a month ago.. trying to major in music industry. my routers been fucking with my GR so i cant stay in an rvs game for very long.. hopefully thatll change.. but it seems like the r6 activity is on another shitty downslope anyway. As for me, I'm in the automotive business for years now, quality department for Volvo Cars Belgium, where the S40, V50, S60, V70 and soon the C30 are build. I got a bachelors in Engineering Sciences and it’s time to get that masters now. It has been 10 years now since I graduated… wøøt… I still didn’t figured it out yet how to combine this with my work… sigh…

I'm still on GR as most people probably know, 7 years of GameRanger. Oh yeah.
This fall I'm entering uni in Stockholm (hopefully) after having spent over a year in total being a bum and having spent almost a year in Japan... It's gonna be nice to actually be doing something again after having spent so much time on so little. Never would've thought I'd get this feeling when I was younger, wanting to study. Well, bottom line, still around, still alive and kickin'.

Upon the switch-over to OS X, Rogue Spear fell into obscurity and only quickened my declining interest in GameRanger. RS players and clans disbanded, gradually disappeared until the community aspect in B&G seemed completely foreign to me. Newer games failed to catch my interest, so I sort of went off to better things. Then, by the time college came around (Fall '05), there really wasn't anytime to play GR between the larger workload and what I see as a pretty intense social atmosphere (in the dorms, ymmv). That, coupled with jobs/internships, means time is somewhat of a rare commodity. Anyways, It's nice to see old players still haunt these forums. I'm glad I stopped by.

Nice seein' you guys, especially Py and Jeb. I had started to forget my glorious place as Jeb's massive package, as predominantly displayed on ·(uNt·'s main page. Ah, glorious.

Just a quick update...I just accepted a software engineering position at Destineer, the parent company of MacSoft, working on core engine technologies used in their games and military simulations.  They're located near Minneapolis, MN (brrr...).  Should be fun!

I remember some of you guys, although I'm gonna have to agree with Ace. When did KoS become old-school? They were that little bitch (I kid, I kid) Ultimo's lovechild and center of all the L33T D00DZ in the GR-RS community. Ultimo is a cop? Jesus christ! Remind me to stay away from NYC.

As for me, I was a member of POD (Pirates of the Desktop woot), SWAT and then finally the neverdying Janitors (three out of the four members have met in real life, loudnotes being the exception). I am finishing up a BS in electrical engineering at the Univ. of Washington and might go on to get a master's.

I think my devotion to the Mac platform began waning when Grifter died... that was a sad day for SWAT =(

Anybody heard from the SiX guys or SEALs? Aside from Ace (and the core DAMN), I don't think there are many of us TRUE old school R6 players around anymore... *grumble* none of this bs games with shiny graphics... gimme R6 anyday... */grumble*

So, I want to say at this point, while I certainly had contentious moments and strained relationships with some fellow legends of this forum, I hope like for me that is generally faded, I certainly had a lot of good times both playing R6, hanging on GR, and posting here (back when I dominated the post count at this place). All of us are naturally older, most of us are more mature, and I can drink most of you mother fuckers under the table now so suck it  ;D

What's this I hear about Ultimo being a cop? That's one of the scarier things I've heard recently.

It feels weird posting as "Typhy". Typhy seems so foreign to me now. In the last year, I've watched a car with my best three friends go sailing off a cliff at 80 MPH, and been less than a foot away from sliding off a 150 foot cliff, over a water fall, and down onto a rock face in a heli skiing accident. A couple of rather life changing experiences.

Currently, I'm finishing up testing for my EMT license. I work as a ski instructor at Eaglecrest ski area. This will most likely be my last year in Juneau, at least for the forseeable future. My girlfriend and I are planning to move down to either Colorado or California. She'll be going to college, and I'll most likely be training as a Paramedic, and eventually going into Search and Rescue.

After the heli skiing accident, I became really interested in mountain rescue. I'm going to the University of Alaska Southeast this year to finish up my EMT certification, and take an avalanch class, and a white water rescue class.

And. . . Yeah. . . That's pretty much it. Figured I'd stop in.

Good luck with that Typhy...I used to do Search and Rescue.  It can be a very rewarding career field...if not extremely dangerous work.[/size]
