Title: Raven Shield Gun Bug Post by: core.C o k e on December 09, 2005, 06:01:59 pm A lot of people have been getting this gun bug lately, i have asked arpund and it seems its due to athena sword, this makes sense cos i have just got AS about a month ago and this bug has been bugging me about that long.
What i wanna know is:- if i trash AS will this bug stop? cos, im not all that keen on AS and the bug pisses me off a lot. it sometimes fixes itself if you give it a burst or two, but sods law says it will happen at an unopportune moment. thus resulting in you being fucked, usually. Trashing Athena sword's Mod file and Mod folder contents might not fix the issue because what if the installer replaces existing files in the Raven Shield Data/System or w/e directories? Thus you would have to reinstall Raven Shield completely.
Now one would think that Athena Sword does not overwrite any files in the original install, keeping it a separate mod. Usually when you join a server, it checks your game version and if there are any files that have been changed, I assume it recognizes a file version difference and informs the joiner of the updated/missing file (like when your missing a map). I would suggest keeping your install just the way it is and installing a secondary Raven Shield 1.56 with Iguard 2.0. Go to Gameranger's Preferences, click the Game tab and choose the new installation directory. Test that Raven Shield and see if there's an improvement on reticule behavior. On a side note, the Raven Shield 1.6 verson for PC update changed the Reticules for the game entirely. How this change effects game play, I have no clue since I do not own the PC version of this particular game. -ferret Title: Re: Raven Shield Gun Bug Post by: jerkasaur on December 10, 2005, 12:32:22 am Athena Sword is not the issue. I used to get the gun bugs all the time, and I never had AS installed. I believe it's related to firing after the round is over. When I stopped doing that, I stopped getting gun bugs.
