A 2.5 Duel Core DP G5 would send shivers down my spine... and i think that would do me nicely given the long wait for the really good intel macs that will replace them (which i don't think will be the first release, but more likely the first revision) ... depends though will be interesting! So, IF the rumor is correct and Apple updates the PMG5 line with these processors... they obviously won't have more than 2.5Ghz. Probably a much better performance than the current single core modells, but in terms of Ghz they wouldn't be higher. And Apple would surely not update the PMG5 line another time (after this, IF they do it at all), to maybe 3Ghz, before the Intel-Macs.

I can't imagine that there are too many people that would be using such a machine to its fullest, since there really aren't a huge number of applications that are developed to be so massively (mm...relatively) parallel. Not currently, at least. There are certainly cases where it'd be a win, but I think most people wouldn't see a difference.
