When we first created the so called "Pre-Season" not much thought was given to how long it should last. The idea was to get something out there as quickly as possible, to give you all an opportunity to play. However, its now been over a month. There hasn't been a whole lot of activity on the ladders, although there has been some.

So when do you all think this should end? Mauti shows no signs of actually re appearing and doing anything significant, which begs the question, what happens after we end the pre-season? Anyway, I'd like to know whether there is a consensus on what we should do now.

I would recommend we do a Playoff among the clans with most points in each ladder. I see what you mean with respect to hardly any action in the RVS ladder, but the GhR ladder has had pretty good action.

Let's say the top 8 clans play it out... 1 vs 8  - 2 vs. 7 .. etc.  Best of 3 cbs moves on....
Then the winners of each round head off:  1-8 vs. 4-5  --  2-7 vs. 3-6 - same best of 3 format...
Final can be best of 5

This is just an idea.....

It should end when we (the admins) start getting season 11 underway. I don't see any reason for finals... by the time the pre-season ends I think it would be more important that we put our focus on season 11 and not playoffs.

Unless the winner of preseason starts off with more sheep in the next season that would give everyone an incentive to play and actually give a meaning to the preseason.

Pre-season is a warm-up. Admittedly a long one, but still just a way to whet the palate.

I don't think we should really award anything to anyone based on the preseason. Chalk it up as bragging rights and let's get on with it.
Season 11 should be where the heroes are seperated from the zeros (not you, z][t, we love you, man).

I thought it would be nice to have a 'preseason finals tourney' just so we could try something new.  Many guys have a great ideas.


I thought a round-robin tourney would be great where each clan play every other clan... you lose twice and you are out.

I have seen others suggest  a system where clans are grouped by region like in world cup qualifying, and the top 2 from each bracket make it into the finals.


whatever... lets just not be afraid to try something new.... we might like it.

As far as we are concerned the Preseason tourney and the eventual upcoming of the next season will remain separate, and the outcome of this preseason will have no influence or standing on the next full season. As for weak's ideas regarding finals etc, if the community wants to try out some different extra final systems/sub tourneys for the top ranking teams at the end of this season i'm sure we can get something set up - really depends on what you guys want  :)

I'm sure we could try this, but you have to understand that this will cut into the begginning of season 11 because this does take a lot of the admins time away from other issues...

just tossing ideas.... pick them up or leave them where they are.  no worries.  I know there is always complainging directed at the DBL.  Instead of being a complaint whore im trying to toss out ideas.
