Title: Such is life. . . Post by: Typhy on July 19, 2005, 12:28:58 pm As those of you who talk to me on GR frequently know, my life has gone to shit over the past few months.
At the moment, I'm in an absolutely fantastic situation: I've got tons of debts to pay off, I lost both my jobs, so I have no income, I had a relationship fall on it's ass, I've got about. . . What'd we say? Snipe? 1,500 hours? Something like that, of work that needs to be done just to graduatate High School. . . . There's a lot more than that, those are just a few notable things. There's a nice quote form Seinfeld: Kramer: You got money? George: No. Kramer: You got a job? George: No. Kramer: You got a woman? George: No. Kramer: You got any prospects? George: No. Kramer: Have you got any reason even to get up in the morning? George: I like to read the paper. . . That sums things up for me right now. I have fucking unsupportive, and annoying as fuck, parents, who I still have to live with, since I don't have any fucking money anymore. Anyway, yes, this is fucking going somewhere. I can't afford to pay my internet connection anymore, after this month, so I'll be on a shit connection that my parents have ( 256 down, 64 up, I believe ). At best, that'll be the only issue that relates to you little fuckers at all. More likely, is the idea that I will have to sell this computer. In the event that I do ( in the next week or so ), it'll represent the end to a long run. 5 years with you bastards. From when I was 12 years old, until 17. Some great friends, some great memories. I'm not going into that big "list of names" bullshit. There are hundereds of you who I'd like to thank, but I only have room for three. Myst: Typhy and Myst were the true MP5. We won at RS, we won at RVS. But vastly more important than that is our friendship. Really, not a lot I can say for 5 years. . . It's beyond words. Snipe: You're the best of the best. Even online, you're one of the best friends I'll ever have. Maniac: You little fucker, someday, when things are better, I'm still going to come down to Texas and beat you to a pulp. I love ya'. KoS & DR Clans: My goal, throughout RS, was to beat KoS. Regrettably, that goal went unfulfilled. You guys are an example of the best clan, "on and off the field", so to speak. You let your record speak for itself. You were confident, but not arrogant, and always a pleasure to play against. You were the best RS clan out there. DR - You were a true oponent. Classy, expeienced, and incredibly skilled. I don't care what anyone says about BoC, or any other clans, you're tops. You're responsible for making RVS fun. There are 492 people on my buddy list. Many that I haven't even seen in years, 492 people, 5 years. Tons of people, tons of memories, tons of stories, tons of experiences. So, as I leave you guys tonight, and soon, forever, I want to leave you with some words. No matter what situation you're in, no matter where you are, where you come from, or how other people act, always be yourself. Always stand up for your principles. Don't let someone be treated unfairly, because "it's none of my business". Always step forward, and always fight for what you believe in. Always hold true to your word. Your word is who you are. Do things for the right reasons, and for the common good, not for what you get out of it. You're the one person you have who you can always rely on. If you ever meet someone you can trust as much as you trust yourself, don't let them slip away for anything, because this is the best friend you'll ever have. So, in closing. . . Friends, enemies, acquaintences, whoever the hell you are. . . I thank you for the past 5 years. Tomorrow I'll add on a picture of myself, then call it a career. - MP5 Typhy, aka, Forrest Clough. Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: BTs_GhostSniper on July 19, 2005, 03:21:41 pm OMG...your name is Forrest? First things first....change your name, man!
But on to your post...great post Typhy, hope it all works out for you. Why don't you just go live with my sister in Anchorage...she has high-speed internet! But anyhow, I still have wonderful memories of trying to pay off Evill to permaban you on GR...but he wouldn't do it for less than the price of a new car! Oh, for a while it was ALMOST worth it. But then, damnit, I got to talking to you and decided to bury the hatchet (not in your head, where at one time I wanted to bury it). I even made nice with Voodoo! God, I hate it when enemies become friends. lol Good luck man, see you around. -GhostSniper Out. Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: spike on July 19, 2005, 06:06:41 pm Good luck man, you've been a bitch of an enemy in both RvS and RS. I hope things work out for yah, so you can return to our little corner of the 'net.
Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: BTs_Mysterio on July 19, 2005, 06:41:22 pm I doubt this is the last we will see of Typhy. I suppose you said there is 'til the end of this month, so perhaps we should try to work something out for you Typhy. Unless you don't like reading tech related news and reposting it on a site. Reviews have always been your thing. Anyway, we should talk on GR or iChat.
I guess now you have reason to sell off Powerbook.... perhaps buy one of them $899 refurb iBooks... or maybe just stick to eBay... We'll see. Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: Supernatural Pie on July 19, 2005, 07:46:18 pm Typhy, as beautiful as that was, you forget a couple things:
1. I know your iChat screen name. 2. I know several of your email addresses. 3. I know where you live. 4. I know your cell phone number. 5. At some point in time I knew your house phone number, and could probably find it again if I wanted to. 6. I know where you want to go to college. You see... you couldn't escape me if you tried. So while it may be a good bye for everyone else, this just doesn't count as one for me and you. :) And btw... Thanks for being there for the last three years. (Technically four, but we kinda hated each other that first year.) Yes, GS, if you can believe it, me and Typhy used to hate each other with burning passion, also. (And remember all those fun times where I offered to kill Typhy if you would buy me premium? Of course, that was before Typhy himself bought me premium. :) ) Too many memories to even start listing them. The good, the bad, the ugly. So to sum it up: Thanks, but as far as I'm concerned, you're not going anywhere. :) Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: spike on July 19, 2005, 08:54:55 pm out of curiosity, how much for the PB

Oh yeah SHOW US UR PIC! Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: bronto on July 20, 2005, 12:40:22 am Me and capt already saw Typhy's picture because we googled his name a year or two ago, it was in a newspaper article. I won't post it though because it's probably embarassing for him :). We've all been in the local papers for one thing or another though, I was in it about 4 years ago for some ecology thing and it was a picture of me at the beach rubbing my nipples and throwing my head back. I don't know why they published that. And also in it a couple times for criminal reports haha.

Post by: dr.blake. on July 20, 2005, 02:56:45 am As my good friend and clanmate, Autriche once said, "There are plenty of good players here, and there are a fair amount of excellent players, but there are only a handful of winners." Typhy is one of those winners.
Probably the most "aggressive killer" in RS... and almost as good as me in RvS... *cough* Typh may not have been the most liked player of all time, but anyone who has known him for as long as i have can't stay mad at him. Not only can the kid play but I'm sure we've all soaked up some of his punctuation potent comments on everything from a TK to politics. I've always enjoyed talking to Typh... and always loved playing against him, unfortunately combining the two makes you want to slap him around at times. Anyway, my rides almost here so i gotta finish this up... Go Sox, ggs bro... Peas. Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: Maniac on July 20, 2005, 09:03:46 am Three years ago was the start of a wonderful things which brings a smile to my face every time i think about them. Over the years i have made great friendships with people i know better than most with out even seeing their face. Typhy you are the only one that i consider a real friend on Game-Ranger, you and i have been through the best and the worst. We know all sorts of things about each other from just have causal conversations and deep ones over the years. Thank you so much for being there for me bud when i needed it. You have always helped me, and cheered me up when i was having problems. All i can say is you are one of a kind man, and i love you just as much as all my other close friends. If anything ever happens call me i'll be on a flight to Alaska the next day. I'll be seeing you someday, so you can kick my sorry ass. Once again love you dude and i wish you nothing but the best of things.

I hope you find yourself a new job and all that, get yourself back online soon. You know where to come if you do, I'm sure you will find a way.

Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: Supernatural Pie on July 20, 2005, 07:47:33 pm When I first made the "Typhy Potter" photoshop while I was in AgT, Typhy was... well... pissed, to put it lightly.
What made it even worse later on was that he always claimed he didn't look like that anymore, yet I was convincing people he does. So, without further adieu, I give you: "Typhy Potter? 2005 Revision" (http://void03.xs.to/pics/05293/TyphyPotter05.jpg) Title: Re: Such is life. . . Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: dr. letum on July 21, 2005, 11:04:57 am Typhy,
I've known you for quite some time now. You were always a true opponent. From My days of RS cbs with StFU & Dr. to RvS, I always enjoyed Cbing with you cause you always were just level headed and fun to game with. I hope everything works out and you are back with us sooner rather than later. Stay in touch with us here, as I am sure i speak for everyone in saying you are always welcomed here. Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: (SiX)Sheixhundt on July 23, 2005, 01:07:45 am I gotta admit, im not understanding why all the lapdancing.
You guys are treating him like hes a cancer kid about the take his last final walk. All the older guys are probably laughing at this one, because, well growing up is painful, and certainly not worthy of receiving an altar built in your name. He lost a job--rgr, ive lost jobs. He lost a girl--rgr, lost a couple.. Hes in debt--um yeah, were all in debt. He has unsupportive parents? Well yeah they all look that way when youre living in their house and asking you to be responsible. That changes when you get some distance between you...and you realize they were 100% justified about most of the things they asked or expected of you. And by my accounting, letting a teenager without a job and money live in your house for free doesnt count as UNsupportive..sorry, thats just my real world way of looking at things. (if, however they are emotionally and physically abusive, i certainly take the critique on that back, but if not, it sticks.) And if Id seen him act out half the crap he preached about in his 'how to live life lecture' maybe id feel different... I havent seen him act with honor, i havent seen him do the right thing.. Ive seen him tk a LOT of 'straight our of the box noobs', call them filthy names for not playing the way he wants em to play (fucking retard, faggot, etccc), gun em down for accidentally blocking a door and ive seen him kick from his server for simply saying the word lag, or not getting onthe team he demands..while at the same time leaving the six server and harveys server in a HUFF for being asked the same of him. Not to mention the inuumerable UNprovoked personal insults hes thrown my way in almost every interaction ive had with him over the past two years, and the screaming, insult ridden tantrums aimed at his dissatisfaction about the DBL where he has made it clear he is not offering a tangible solution. (to quote him-->>he is wasting everyones time)....so again, based off what ive witnessed, besides gaming for five years, in light of his 'honorable' behavior, what has he done thats worthy of tribute? oh yea and his honorable game play? stay tuned. Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: Stripes on July 23, 2005, 02:17:09 am Hey Typhy, hope everything works out for you been nice getting owned by you. And once in a while owning you hihi.
May god be with you, have fun mate . z][t-Stripes Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: Typhy on July 23, 2005, 09:09:37 am I have never called someone a retard or a faggot. I hate those two words. "Fucking idiot" is much more of my style.
Quote oh yea and his honorable game play? stay tuned. And what the hell is this. . . ? I always spoke out against things in the *DBL that I disagree with. I've always stepped in when I feel someone is being treated unfairly. Whenever I criticize something, I always suggest an alternative. I never "leave in a huff". If someone is setting up uneven games, I leave, simple as that. I don't want to have a fight with you, thats not how I want to end things. So, Sheix, whatever you feel, I respect you as a top notch RVS player. Enjoy yourself, Typhy Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: BTs_GhostSniper on July 23, 2005, 02:43:14 pm Typhy! Would you please stop posting, buddy? Mysterio and I are trying to pass up your post count but it makes it very difficult when you continue to post! lol[/size]
Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: Supernatural Pie on July 23, 2005, 04:36:39 pm based off what ive witnessed, besides gaming for five years, in light of his 'honorable' behavior, what has he done thats worthy of tribute? What you've witnessed? I could go on for hours about things he's done that you HAVEN'T witnessed. You want some fucking examples? Here you go. Quote Always stand up for your principles. Don't let someone be treated unfairly, because "it's none of my business". Always step forward, and always fight for what you believe in. How about the time he put himself between some assholes at his school and a Native who was taking a lot of shit from them for... well.. being a Native. How long was your suspension for sticking up for that kid when no one else would, Typhy? Two days, was it? Quote No matter what situation you're in, no matter where you are, where you come from, or how other people act, always be yourself. I've seen the best and the worst of Typhy. The one thing I can always be sure of, though, is that he is never, as Holden Caulfield would say, phony. Quote You're the one person you have who you can always rely on. There's the time he broke a would-be mugger's arm, possibly stopping him from having a different, less physically capable victim later that night. Quote Do things for the right reasons, and for the common good, not for what you get out of it. Here's my one GameRanger example: He bought me Premium. <sarcasm>How selfish of him.</sarcasm> Quote Always step forward, and always fight for what you believe in. I don't even want to minimalize this quote with a single example. There are simply too many. Quote If you ever meet someone you can trust as much as you trust yourself, don't let them slip away for anything, because this is the best friend you'll ever have. Her name is Ashley, and for the next year, he's going to be doing three years worth of school work, paying for the extra classes without his parents' emotional or financial assistance, holding down a part time job, giving up his recreational life to have the time and money to do so, all so that he can simply APPLY to the same college as her, with the hopes that he can spend the next four years of his life with the only person he trusts as much as himself. Any more fucking comments, Sheix? Or would you like to leave yourself some dignity, and just let the guy say good bye? >:( Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: BFG on July 23, 2005, 08:40:37 pm Snipe obviously there is a difference from your relationship with Typhy as friends outside of this community, and the impression that players and members of the community get from Typhy here.
Ive had a mixed relationship with you Typhy, we've chatted a lot, played BF together with the other MP5 guys, and discussed and talked about *DAMN more than i can remember. Good and bad stuff, Snipe regarding your responce to Shiex's post well what you have to judge typhy is different from what I and others have, while you may know the guy ouside of these forums and gaming etc others don't, and they have things like this thread (http://www.damnr6.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=8793.0) to go by, let alone many others. Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: Civrock on July 24, 2005, 06:17:59 am i think you didn't get the sense and meaning of the whole saying... or how would you interprete "limited by budget" in case of personality, appearance or behaviour? you know, we werent really meaning books or book covers by saying books and book covers.
but yes... many terrible "books" have good "covers", i completely agree. Title: Re: Such is life. . . Post by: Typhy on July 24, 2005, 06:30:56 am Better go crawl back into your bunker, Civic. The Allies are coming.
Your inital statement shows pure ignorance, since the cover of a book, more often than not, along with the title, is choosen by the publisher, not the author. Civic, you are one person I won't miss a bit. You're a lifeless, pathetic, disgusting parasite. The news of your death would bring me only pleasure. Sheix, BFG, Civic. . . Back at RS, in a community you guys never knew, when someone's life got chopped to shit, and they posted that they were going to have to leave our little gaming community, if you didn't have something nice to say, you just kept your fucking mouth shut. It's like Mitch Albom said: "One withers, another grows." I guess the sound thing to do would be to thank you. So. . .thanks. Title: Re: Such is life. . . http://www.damnr6.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=8952.0 - Typhy caught cheating. http://www.damnr6.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=8960.0 - Typhy half ass apology. More like a, "Sucks you guys didn't catch me sooner. Peace, i'm out. Later" kinda apology. I don't however think that Typhy will "cheat" later on in life in what he does. This is a lesson well learned. It's also just a game. I don't think anyone doesn't take a "shortcut" here and there in life. Most people have peeked at someone's test answer, copied a homework, or stolen a pencil from someone rather than asking. Title: Re: Such is life. . .
