Title: Reducing the Size of My Library... Post by: :MoD:Shade on July 14, 2005, 04:28:37 pm My music library contains 3800 songs even (right now, will probably increase by the end of the day) and takes up 24.52GB of space.
Is there any way I can decrease the amount of space that these songs take up? Title: Re: Reducing the Size of My Library... Post by: BTs_GhostSniper on July 14, 2005, 05:35:34 pm My music library contains 3800 songs even (right now, will probably increase by the end of the day) and takes up 24.52GB of space. Is there any way I can decrease the amount of space that these songs take up? I have the same problem. I have 3500 songs that take up about 120 GB of space (they are all in full-quality AIFF format, same as a regular store-bought CD). But I don't want to put them in a lessor quality because I want to archive them in the same format so I can burn them back to full-quality CD's later. I asked the same thing you did a while back and the best reduction without sound quality loss was using Apple's Lossless Format. It might not be enough of a reduction for what you are looking for, though. What format are they in now? By the way, my solution ended up being to buy a second 250 GB Hard Drive and sticking it in the space provided in the G5 Tower. Title: Re: Reducing the Size of My Library...
