i was thinking about a battleleague by country in rvs or/and ghr.

it could be fun to make the team by country....

What do u think about that ?

Could be interesting to say the least. But then one would have to define the team size so that smaller countries could also contend.

yeah, for the little country ( switzerland, netherland... ), there can have a 4v4 and for the bigger country like (Usa, England, Canada) there can have a 8v8 ::applause::

do we even know if we have all of those countries?

it sounds really cool, but the admins r saying for like 1 month that the dbl season is going to start soon. So if they have to organize something else its gonna take like 6 month until they accepted the idea and another year until competition could start. If we really want to do that i guess we would have to do it on our own!

Probably would be the best way to do it since Mauti has disappeared.

yep, i agree with krush, mauti is afk to the max, we should get something else going.

For The Big Country like USA,

we can do the team by *Etat* : California team, Texas team... ;D

I'm not dissing the DBL, but if Mauti is AFK... are there any other gaming communities out there that might have some of the organizational issues sorted that we could join? I looked around and all I could find were PC user communities.

Posssibly a move for the gaming to macclans or another site should be on the cards. The lack of support and ability to make a decision whan mauti is not here is appauling. All we need is a couple of clans to make the move and the community will follow.

you should read some of the other threads in this forum fed up, and you might understand the situation  a little bit better. I'll review it for you.
1. Mauti is working on his senior thesis, something which most people would put ahead of gaming.
2. Macclans is down and barely functional.
3. Mauti just sent the admins an email re: delegating power to one of us in order that we can start the season. We are discussing this, and hope to have an answer for you soon and when that answer comes it will lead to
4. The season will start.

I would gladdly give whatever help I can to start a new league... if we have any decent scripters in here who want to dedicate a lot of their time.

but in the meantime, do we want to play season XI? and if so, now that we're way behind the schedule would we want to play with the same rules as last season?

really it's all up to you guys, the admins can do it but does the community want it?

Wow, here's a thread that's devolving into sedition.

One of the things that makes Ghost Recon a great game (and GameRanger a fun place) is the community - ei. you guys (and gals).  I would hate to see that dissolve.

It would be nice to play in a wider world against PCs but as you all know there are some problems with that, namely the required mods not being available for Mac.  I would guess that most PC clans don't play the classic version very much. GameRanger seems to be the only Mac gaming place.

It may be that GhR has seen it's day and we are faced with declining numbers of players. I know a lot of people have moved on to other games and GameRanger seems to show this by the number of Ghr servers up. It's less than it used to be.

But for the present, we have a great thing going here, let's see if we can pull together and keep it going. If we keep the rules the same, it should be simple to just start the season.  The mechanics of keeping the stats, CB reporting etc. should already be in place.

i dunno how make a website in php like this one ::wall:: . mb someone would like make a website but it's sure that it takes a lot of time.  >:(

If you're referring to a new league... it takes a lot more than just a website. A lot of scripting is involved which is more important than the website itself. If all we needed was a website then I would have already been on it months ago ;D

And you need a system to actually run that league, you need the volunteers, the rules, structure, and a sizable community

No... all you need is Mauti! We have all of the above and we're still not playing :-)

I don't see anyone starting or getting a league going anytime soon.

How hard would it be to simply begin the league now with the current 'sheep' system and just post the results in a thread.  Perhaps the admins could help in keeping track of the sheep count.

Call it Season XI preseason if you want.

[:] is already looking for and accepting cb requests.  Afterally, silly sheep points aside, it's the actual game competition that makes this fun.

Hell, let's get a list of all the clans that are active so that we start setting up matches.  Or let's just cb eachother and keep track of simple wins and losses.

Ok in theory there is nothing to stop us from setting up a new season with a basic structure. We control the ladder similarly to back in the day - Cb results are posted in a thread and Admins will update them. 3 points for a win, 0 points for a loss. You can play each clan perhaps 6 times.

... IF you guys have suggestions etc do say, if the support is there we can do whatever the community wants (within reason!)

its up to you all, you wanna start the season like bfg suggested, go for it, im all for it.

ffs! you guys waited so long... now you can wait 2-3 or maybe 4 weeks more to start the season PROPERLY. jeez...

We were waiting for Mauti... he never told when he's planning on coming back until just a couple days ago.

I can just see you sitting peacefully by while apple or whoever disregards your multiple emails about delivery of whatever....theres no ffs about it. 

A Complete lack of info, reponses and feedback on any subject when inquiries are made, makes people antsy. And anytime Your wants and needs are given a LOW priority, it WILL generate some heat.

If getting the season started was a priority/interest of yours, youd be in here getting riled up like the rest of them.
