Title: The Chronicles of Narnia
Post by: KoS PY.nq.ict on May 09, 2005, 02:37:51 pm
Yes. That's right. For all of you who remember this amazing book as a kid....they're finally making it into a movie. It could possibly outshine LOTR.

Doesn't mean they can't make one badass movie out of it.

Back when i was a wee kido the BBC did several good Dramatisations of the books - i think they did all the books. Anyway the man who directed them was my best friends dad - and he has the head carving from the dawn tredder on his driveway - its pretty inpressive! :)

ps..you got yourself a dead link Py  -  this will link correctly (http://movies.channel.aol.com/franchise/exclusives/chronicles_of_narnia_movie)

i dunno, when i was little there were these films that had already been made for those books and they were fun. i clearly remember the part where the ice queen whips out some turkish delight and wanting some...turkish delight looks better then it tastes though, i found out later.

Man i love Turkish delight

- just watched the trailer though... looks all pretty and "disney' like - sacerine and sickly and yuck. And the christian undertones are well... not very unter.

They should have got Tim Burton to direct it  -;)

As BFG already mentioned, there was a series already done.  I saw them a LONG time ago, but as I recal they were pretty well done, and the adaption work from the books was amazing.

Yeah BBC Did it - Im trying to work back and i reckon it must have been 95-ish well between 1992 and 96 at least. it had a rawness and a realness to it which when you look at the disney video ....

i know what you mean. CGI is really abused now, it's getting old.

Prob w/ narnia is there are 7 of them..... ish.... Unless you put some of the books into one or either totally omit them (horse and his boy has little to do w/ lion witch and wardrobe plot) along with the first one which is = to a books prologue... if they went off the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe ones and such it would be a good few flicks.

I highly doubt it will outshine LOTR... but it should make for some very good movies.

It's true though, we're losing all of our epic sagas. (Star Wars, LOTR)

They're selling our childhoods back to us. LOTR, Star Wars, Hitchiker's Guide, and now this.

I couldn't be more excited. Seriously.

All i need now is some DragonLance shit and I'll be complete.

LOL, dragonlance the movie. They've been talking about that for years. Heard about that before they started working on LOTR. Think Maragret Weis was working on a script too.
