It doesn't matter which guy hosts a game. You should prefer a host with static IP and no firewall. The host has to send you his IP address then he starts R6 or EW and creates a game. You also start R6 or Eagle Watch(depends what the host plays), press on multiplayer/manuel join and fill in the host IP address. The standard port for R6 and EW is 2346. Enjoy your games! Sometimes when you set up PPP for a regular modem it will fill in your IP for you, allowing you to see it. But if you have DSL, you have to get a utility called "what's my address," which I will email you if you need it.
Your PC friend can find his address using the RUN command in the start menu, but I dont' remember what he'd have to type in. ;) lol, sorry. Anyway, I just thought that might help, as I had some trouble figuring out my IP at first. To find the real thing (which is dynamic) I still have to use a utility.
