Title: Sorry Mauti!! Post by: Cocobolo on May 10, 2001, 10:06:07 am Geez, sorry about that 3Ds max link post on my board! Probably against the rules, eh? whoops!
Title: Re: Sorry Mauti!! Post by: *DAMN Mauti on May 10, 2001, 06:05:39 pm No problem Cocobolo. Nobody got hurt, ;) ?I just removed it and thats it. But the best is that I received a mail today and a guy asked me, ME, how to install the 3DSM warez, lol. I ?dont like public warezing(if you do it top secret it is your thing but to advertise warezing is really bad) ?and either I dont have a PC, ;D.
However forget it. By the way I try to move this forum to GameSpy's cgi server(elandrion helps me) to avoid ?these damn pop ups. I will send you an email with the new address and upload a redirect script here before we definitive move. Have a nice day! Title: Re: Sorry Mauti!! Post by: jn.loudnotes on May 10, 2001, 05:06:57 pm Hey its n?ive little me. ..
Forgive me, but what exactly is 3Ds max, and what is wrong with linking to it? Title: Re: Sorry Mauti!! Post by: jn.wrath on May 10, 2001, 05:33:01 pm It's a VERY expensive 3D modeling/animation program - one of it's uses is making models for RS. The problem with linking to it is because it ISN'T free...
Title: Re: Sorry Mauti!! Post by: Cocobolo on May 11, 2001, 10:04:33 am yep, it's $3500 to be exact.... But do not think for a second that 75% of these modders out here doing maps and weapon mods PAYED for their copy...
After all, how do you justify paying all that $$$ for something like modding, which makes no money? Happy hunting Title: Re: Sorry Mauti!! Post by: *DAMN Mauti on May 11, 2001, 10:32:45 am He Cocobolo,
I am quite sure that almost every modder uses a pirated version of 3DSM however to advertize warezing is in my opinion the worst thing you can do, because may some of the forum visitors would buy 3DSM but then they read the 3DSM for free thread and just download it. So I am strictly against postings that link/advertise warez. Title: Re: Sorry Mauti!! Post by: jn.wrath on May 11, 2001, 12:51:23 pm I think that not buying something and warezing it instead just because you won't use 99% of it's features is still stealing. I won't launch into a full scale assault on warezing at this time, just don't propogate it by posting links to it...
BTW, Mauti, here's a link to the YaBB help files, the YaBB team switched servers, so thats why the Help section is down. http://yabb.xnull.com/help/index.html Title: Re: Sorry Mauti!! Post by: jn.loudnotes on May 11, 2001, 05:56:04 pm Thanks Wrath for explaining. ?I had wondered what you needed to modify the models/animations in R6, but that is a little over my budget so I just won't bother with it.
Yes I think warezing is illegal too. .. |
