WOW SOUNDS REALLY BAD. First Loud Evill is SCott Kevill the guy who programmed GameRanger and he is also the administrator. By the way he has blocked every message. So far Diablo you shouldn't swear about him that doesn't make the situation easier. Did you join  Evills game manuelly? That is often a reason for banning or  did you try to log in with a banned user account? However write him a nice mail  and ask for mercy you will come back don't worry 8) we get around the ban.

ok, now this may be a bug or something. . ..

but I logged on to GameRanger.  Since diablo is on my buddy list, i thought I'd just see how long he's been off GR.  Well, if his user Id hasn't changed from 37315, which is what I have on my buddy list, then he logged on today!  it says he got on at 1:09 Pm EST and got off at 1:42 Pm.  What's with that?

Scott kevill is really evasive! ?I just talked to him on GR, and I asked why you were banned. ?he said that "You know exactly what you did wrong." ?and that "he won't tell everyone of his buddies who comes in asking the next day."

So I dont' know what that means. ?But I thought I'd let you know

I was just banned today.  Cd, its cause of GameScouter.  Heres my story:

      I know both EVill and Xec(leader of GS team).  Xec is a bud from Sith).  So, he was banned twice, first time for advertising, and second, for no apperent reason.  He sent scoot an email asking why, and explaining what he didnt do, and he never got a reply.  So im like, hey, evill knows me a little, I'm sure its a misunderstanding type thing.  So i send him three emails asking him.  No reply.  By now, im like, what has scoot got to hide(Xec was banned for stealing stuff from Gr to sue on Gs.  He totaly denies it, so im just asking to see the proof from Evill).  Anywho, Im like "Wheres the proof about it, one of ypou is lieing(on Gr, directed towards Scoot).  He says "Do you want to join them"  So i say "No, I want the truth"  Evill:"Do you want to join them".  Blackflame(formely ness)""No, I want the truth".  We do this probably 3 or 4 times, and then Evills like, this is your last warning.  So then i start over, and type something along "You(evill) complain he stole something.  Xec said he didnt.  I would like the proof.  One of you is lieing".  I got many warnings before this, but im just after the truth.  My indefinte ban is now intact.  I have no intrest of begging Evill.  I just want to know the truth.

      Btw, Noko is this guy who tried to hack GS.  We got some assumptions at GS that Evill asked him to, or encouraged him, blah.  I got a little hint with this in the chat today, not 100% proof, but a little lead.  But, Once i was d/c i had no edit chat abilites(ie. Copy.paste).  Arggg.  I hope Evill understands, though, if he did put Noko up to this, he commited a crime, and, if i find proof, i may encourage Xec to press charges.  For a guy that once told me Quote on quote "The competition doesn't bother me, its the advertising that does" Unquote, Evill is acting really strange.  He made it so if you type gamescoute in gr, it says opengl.

     Who's right, Evill or Xec?  Evill is grown up, and has a better past.  But i truth Xec as an online friend, and Evills been acting weird lately.  He still wont tell me the proof.

I've seen it.  right now, GS only needs devlopers.  If it had 60 games tommorow, everyone would play on it.  Trust me the new version looks great

GameRanger is nevertheless the best and currently only service to play R6 and RS online. Don't forget this. Unreal, Quake and such games have their own servers so they don't need GR to excist but we probably do.
And also remind that it was GR where we met each other and became friends.
GameRanger is the best free online service on a market with sometimes strange acting admins. That is probably the only disadvantage of the program. I definitive(even it is only a joke above) boycot it because it is simple the best.

"Be careful what u say"  - yes thats sad. I wouldnt like to find out that GR is a place where u cant discuss diff. opinions anymore (except warezin g or swearing or offending people). But mauti and ness said it already:
Evill is the CREATOR of GR. And as a CREATOR of GR u should give him respect for that! so - if u feel u got banned being innocent u should keep relaxed and do what mauti told ya. negotating is always the better way to solve a prob instead of forming hostile alliances.

i respect evill for making a great job on Gameranger and as a designer i have to say:
GS really LOOKS like Gameranger.
Also all promised features are things that already exist in GR.
so - in a small way i can understand evills anger about that GS thing -

? ? ? ? ? ?If you look at version 1.4 beta it looks nothing like gr. On version 1.4 rs and r6 will be playable also many other games. Even if Evill was the ruler of the world he doesn't have the right to ban me just because i'm friends with the maker of gs thats bs. Gr may be the home of *DAMN but it is not my home because i'm BANNED for being a friend of Xec96. Its wrong and i don't like it.
Bander, I did give Evill respect for making gr but what does he do?? He bans me for being friends with Xec96 I didn't do one thing wrong. Also I tried to negotiate with Evill I sent him a very nice email saying sorry for whatever I did wrong.(nothing i didn't tell him that though) Understand Evill's anger??? Were you stoned when you said that? I was banned for a wrong reason. Getting banned just because your friends with someone is wrong. Evill should have never made gr if he has no patience or at least some brains.

Arggggg, isn't it enough if one side goes crazy? This whole issue is so weird and both sites do the wrong thing. Evill for being angry about GS and banning obviously all guys that are somehow affilitated with GS and you banned guys for abusing GR and telling people that they shall boycott GR. It is enouh if Evill is emotionally but you aren't better than him if I hear statements like "I always wanted to try to get banned". Wth, spaming and hacking solve no problems contrary that make it even worse. I would be also very excited if you boycott GR anymore if Evill finishes the permabans!?
I really hope both sites become sensible again and can solve their issues. May I will try to speak with Evill in the hope to solve this whole damn thing.

Wow---I only mentioned boycott as an option under one unlikely condition. ?And that is that GS becomes a whole lot better than GR. ?I really dont' know anything about it right now. ?And I like GR. ?It may not be free speech, but until something better comes along, I'm willing to deal with it.

And mauti, maybe you will have more clout with Evill and can influence him, but to be he was cold and brusque and refused to even give me a hint of why diablo was banned.  And then Noko started spraying all that Porn gibberish all over the place.  That is what really disillusioned me with GR.  Remember up until diablo was banned I had never even heard of Evill.  Now I just wish the GS will be better, because the admins seem 1000x better.

Of course hes the creator of Gameranger.  He can do what he wants.  No one can stop him.

once i get baned cuz i said PORN. the first times i was on GR my nick was AnalCunt. i got banned.
another time i said something about HOTLINE. BANNED (PIRATE). and guess what happened when i had a swastika for icon...yes. i got banned again.

I know vapor talked to advantage, and that didn't work, so I talked to him too tonight.  After being very evasive he said he'd unban you as well. So i hope that is true.

You guys prolly don't know who I am but I found your msg board while looking for stuff about Scott on Google.com. While searching today I first learned of GameScout and all I can think is "F*ck, yeah!"

We (DOH) are a Q2 Clan that plays on GR, we've been around for about a year and we are all pretty close friends now, even went to the desert to blow shit up... anyway...

Evill seems to be a smart computer guy and i have much respect for the fact that he made the GR service, but like _most_ computer geeks, he has inherent flaws in socializing with other people. He is very closed minded and has a strong unwillingness to listen to any (even rational) disscusion, and he CAN NOT be wrong. (these apply to many computer geeks, myself included, but some reach a level of realization and confront thier flaws head on, rather than be a total jerk when some one disagrees and go and ban them from your precious little gameing network, but I digress ;P)

Also (as far as we know, we could be wrong) the admins seem to mostly be (I don't want to start a flame war so I'll say it nicely) "Yes-Men." So they are basicly of little value except as snitches.

I recently had a disscusion against 4 different people at one time regarding hotline vs. napster.
It lasted about 2 hours and mostly ended with them trying to make fun of me.

now for the point.

GR is fine if all you want to do is play games, but for chat, it is a very opressive environment, thier slogan seems to be "If you don't agree you had best STFU." During my argument/disscusion there were several people who supported me privatly, but obviously did want to say anything out of fear.

Anyway, I have heard and been told on many occasions "if you don't like it make your own" well I think support GameScout in any way possible is what I, and my clan, will be doing in the future.

Yes, I agree with bitchkiller, that like every computer geek they praise themselves and don't care what other people have to say because they (think) that they are ALWAYS right about EVERYTHING. No matter what you try to say to any of them, especially evill, if they disagree the about your comment that you better STFU before you get banned because if you keep argueing your point then you will be banned.

Very much like a few weeks ago, when I found out that Diablo, who I might add is a very good friend of mine, got banned from GR for now reason. Well, let me just say that advantage is a waste of typing trying to talk to him because he just says yes to whatever he says but do you think that worthless piece of crap actually does anything about it, no! So when I went to Evill about diablo I asked Evill why diablo is banned and I told Evill that diablo is sorry for whatever he has done (which we aren't totally sure what he has done). And this is what Evill proceded to say to me, "you will keep your mouth shut if you know what is best for you." Now of course, if anyone of you know who I really am you know I am not going to shut my mouth now, that has only pissed me off more then I already am. So I fought with him some more till he kicked me off GR for a half hour.

A couple weeks later, I was having my own little troubles and I needed some assistence from our computer geek "friend" Evill. But as soon as I asked Evill a question right away he says STFU. So now not only do I have a problem I now want to beat the shit out of Evill. Yes, I am grateful for him making GR but everyone will agree with me that Evill is a conceited computer geek.  So I start to get into a little arguement with Evill and I told him that he has a problem because he thinks he is so great just because he created GR but yet when people have problems he won't help you for shit. Just like if you need him for something and you didn't want to talk in the public chat, you can't private message him because he has everyone blocked, now tell me what the hell kind of adminastrator is that??? So after my little fight with Evill I ended getting banned by him for a week. Which I didn't take over to well.

After I got banned I was trying to figure out what he does to stop you from creating a new account, till it hit me about everyone's IP address. Ok you guys know when you create and account on GR that when it sends the account info to your email that it shows you IP address. Well, he bans you using your IP. He puts you IP address on the GR list of  "banned people" so when you try to get on GR your IP comes up and you can't. There is no way you can bypass it because you always have the same IP address, it never changes, nor can you change it.

All of this pisses me off, especially about Evill and his social skills (which are horrible I might add). So I thought I should just give you my little side to all of this.

I do not have a static IP address.  It changes every time I connect.  Are you sure he doesn't just ban your user number?  Or maybe that is the reason that I have never been banned ;)

And one other interesting thing.  Amazingly, not all of the admins are anti-social.  I talked to one who was apparently honest.  He allowed private messages, and his name was D Dylbeano.  He said quite simply that he did not have the authority to ban or unban, only make recommendations.  So I think Evill is unfortunately the only way to get someone unbanned.  :(

And one further thing--Diablo, have you tried to create a new account, perhaps using a different email address?  I don't know if that would work, but it is certainly worth a try.

GR doesn't ban your IP address because when Zomar got banned he got cable with a totaly new IP address. I think it is may the Mac ID number ot network card ID (so you would forced to buy a new mac/network card to get unbanned) But I don't know what GR really does to ban you.

True... it has to do something with your mac id or something like that. I know you can't create a new account either, because when I got banned for a week, I tried creating a new account and that didn't work and I used a new email address for the account. Also, I know it's not a hidden file because when I got banned I reinstalled software on my comp and it still didn't let me on GR. It must have something to do with your mac ID.

GR has a list of banned accounts, and anyone who tries to log into one of those accounts is banned by their IP and their MAC address (also known as the hardware address of your ethernet card). If anyone of those banned IPs or MAC addresses tries to log into an account that hasn't been banned, that account is also banned.

GR bans by IP, MAC address and an invisible file in the boot sector of your hard drive. So you would need to reformat your hard drive, get a new ethernet card and a new ISP to get back on GR.

Now *THAT* is fucked up.

damn dude, well I guess there is a good reason to use Fry's Electronics "30-day Refund(rental)" policy.

Just get a little 1 gig HD and an endless supply of NIC's from fry's (or you favorite buy and return computer store) and just keep reformatting you GR HD!! haha.
