*DAMN R6 Forum

The season has now been over for 6 hours, so I think it's time to say something:

On behalf of the MP5 clan, the winners of the RvS Ladder, I would like to thank every Raven Shield Clan for a fantastic season - especially DR.

This was ( I'm sure ) the most active season of Raven Shield thus far. Rewarding the regular season winners conbtibuted to the competition, I know it's one of the things that motivated my clan to make our run.

DR went from 2-6 in *DBL Season 9 to 16-3 in *DBL Season 10. I don't think we've ever seen a clan improve that much from season to season. Realistically, one luckly break, one lucky shot, and DR would've finished in first place.

Anyway, I have an incredible amount of respect for DR and most of it's players, you put together a 15 win streak, and held control over the #1 Spot in the BL all the way up until the last 36 hours of the season.

Another clan that deserves a lot of respect is NmE. Despite their record, they were always a solid oponent, and always had excellent sportsmanship.

Lastly, to my MP5 teammates: I love you guys. We sucessesfully compelted the best come back in *DBL History, 12 CBs, 173 sheep, and a record of 36-5 in matches in only 4 days. That's something to be proud of. Thanks!

Typhy, what do you mean by this ?

I mean that changing things so that the regular winners get equal credit to the finals winners gave clans an incentive to shoot for first place, rather than just accept any place in the top 4.

Fortunantly, that rule was changed before the season began, which is what lead to the good competition that we saw this season.

I'm in the league where the top 2 clans met 3 times in the last week of the season, including in the last hour of the BL Season to decide the winner of the ladder.

You, being a Core member, are in the l---, OK, I'll stop, I don't really feel like starting anything right now.

Anyway... congrats with the regular season Typhy. It seems to mean a lot for you.

Thanks, Dutch. From my standpoint, I could care less about the Super Finals, because I don't think they're a good measure of clan strength. Because of that, the regular season is what's important to me.

Contrary to what you may think, this thread WAS actually designed to thank our oponents, especially DR, for a great season. It wasn't designed to brag about our victory.

Oh, and Dutch, I suspect the only thing you guys will be seeing in the finals is 3 losses to DR. ;)

Btw Typhy, clan strenght is not measured by dodging cb's. In the Super Finals clans MUST cb eachother. Thats why I and many other members of the community like the Super Finals.

I'd love to argue about the Super Finals, but we should do that in another thread.

You'll have to get through DR to even have a shot at getting your asses handed to you by us ( wouldn't say that to most people, but I have a very, very strong dislike for Core ). I'd be very surprised if you even won a game against DR.

Looking forward to cb the Dr. clan. Actually, looking forward to cb you as well Typhy. With our 3-2 win from the last cb against MP5 I really can't wait till next weekend  ;D

I would love to have gotten a chance to kick your asses late this season, but all my CB requests were refused.

Unfortunantly, since you refused to CB then, it doesn't look like we'll get to, since DR is going to absolutely destroy you.

Oh, and if by some flukish strike of luck, you somehow beat DR, then we simply kick your asses.

Oddly enough, I'm fighting with one of the Core members I have absolutely no problem with. Oh well, I think we're both enjoying this a bit. ;)

I don't know if you can top the season where BoC won as far as activity goes. That's coming from an un-biased retiree, don't take it the wrong way.

I don't have the statistics, but I doubt it.

During that season, we competed with you during the first bit then dropped out, so you pretty much had no challengers on the ladder, and won by quite a bit.

The winner of this season wasn't decided until about 10 minutes before the season ends.

I'd like to thank everyone who participated in the FFA Ladders.  They saw a lot of activity this season, and I had a lot of fun playing.  Hopefully the ideas Mauti has for next season will keep the people at the top from being so inactive once they get in the top spot.  ;)

TWL refuses to allow a mac port of their CDC client (to prevent cheating). On topic, now that the spam is out of the way, we can now all do the finals dance, which in my case involves trying to drag typhy onto the dance floor. (metaphorically... I'm not casper)

Static....First, have a clue about what your talking about first when you post on these forums.

BoC was never caught cheating. We have been accused of it but never did. The history of good clans are always to be accused of cheating. Of course We have the best RvS record of 14 - 0 so ofcourse we will be called cheaters, and Im still waiting to see if another clan can top that.

On a more serious note, congratulations to all the people that played in this season.  Special congratulations to people new to the *DAMN scene, you're the ones who keep us going, so when those fools like Splinter go get a 'job', go the way of the PC like VooDoo, or go to a college with terrible internet service, like me, there is someone to step up and take our place.  Without you, this league would fall apart.  So cheers to you!

Also, good on 'ya to all the old salts who are still playing, I wish i could have joined you, but as im sure ive said enough times, due to circumstances out of my control ive been forced to basically resign until this comming september.  It's been interesting for me to watch the league from the sidelines, and also how much stuff happens without you noticing it, when you're not in the thick of it. 

All in all, this is a great thing we've got going here, the league has had it's fair share of disputes/knock-down-dragout fights along the way, but no matter what we keep playing, and that's what keeps this going, the game (and blowing each other up).  So what are you doing reading this?! Get back to GR, join a game, and kick some ass!!

Voodoo you can say you finished with the best record, however both dr and MP5 have sustained 15 game winning streaks. This tops the BoC season in activity by a lot. Perhaps you should recount the CBs on the RvS ladder this time.

Either way it doesn't matter anymore because BoC is dead. This topic is for the joy of all who participated, not people looking to stir trouble.

I respect BoC's record, no question about that. I don't support some of the means that were used to get it.

Regardless of whether they won it fairly or not, it's in the past now. No need to rehash it again. Spend the time you would replying practicing to meet dr in the finals, cause you'll need it ;D

From the world of Better-Late-Than-Never....

... congrats to my mates at in [:] Special Forces who not only successly migrated from the remnants of *nRg, but enjoyed a very successful season considering the stiff competition on the Ghost Recon Team ladder.  With only 3 active members throughout the regular season we were able to compile a very healthy 12-4 record and reach the semifinals.

And in case I hadn't done so, a special thanks to -ViP-, cO, an [?] clans.... we often come on to this forum to bitch and grumble about this clan being this or that clan being that.  However, these 3 clans especially were challenges this season but were sportsman throughout.  -ViP- never turned down a cb even though their season went on a downward tumble, cO agreed to cb us 3v3 in the finals even thought they had the option of not doing so (VERY KIND) and [?] always had a grea attitude even in our 4 very tough and hair pulling matches this season.

This was the first of my 3 seasons on the DBL where cb'ing was fun and exciting and not a chore that lead to more problems that what it was worth.

Perhaps it was because it was the first season in recent memory where stripes didnt fuck anything up!

I'm so amazed that some of you continue to be able to play GhR. I played it so much, I cringe at thinking about playing it anymore. Sucks because I never could realize GhR 2's true potential because of this. Now, before some RS nerds come at me and diss GhR, stfu before you make yourself look stupid. :D
