Title: Re: New iPods Post by: BTs_Mysterio on February 24, 2005, 02:30:01 am My iPod has been killed, long live my 40GB 4thG. Wait a tick... do they still have the drives for these if anything goes wrong?

I love those price tags so much that I'm gonna eat up a 30GB. Finally, I'll move on from my 1st generation 5GB scroll wheel iPod. She has served me well. Title: Re: New iPods Post by: seth on February 24, 2005, 07:42:46 am i still have the 2ndG 10GB Ipod, and its rocking my world. Installed a Newer battery so that my sweet baby last forever (well almost).
Title: Re: New iPods Post by: BTs_Mysterio on February 24, 2005, 01:24:48 pm Luckily I still have 1.5 years of Applecare left for it.
Title: Re: New iPods Post by: BFG on February 24, 2005, 01:38:51 pm Hmmm they're adding the one key thing i wanted, the ability to connect your ipod photo and camera stright up to copy your photo's... and straight into iphoto as well. Sexy.
hmm my 3G's battery is suffering a touch at what point can u get it replaced do ya think? Title: Re: New iPods Post by: kos.viper on February 24, 2005, 07:10:37 pm I can't believe your batteries are dying so quick. I've had this 1G iPod for 3 years and have never replaced the battery nor noticed anything different about it's performance.

Title: Re: New iPods Post by: BTs_Mysterio on February 26, 2005, 04:22:14 am I still don't think the price difference for a 40GB drive would have hurt apple too much... 40 is such a nicer number thank 30... 30 was ousted for so long too.
Title: Re: New iPods Post by: kos.viper on February 28, 2005, 05:50:57 am Well, I got a brand new 30GB iPod Photo over the weekend. I was a little disappointed to find out that it doesn't come w/ a firewire cable, instead it comes with a USB 2.0 cable. I don't have USB 2.0 so it took a while to upload all my tunes. It also needs iPhoto 4.0 or greater in-order to sync photos with iPhoto, which isn't a big deal since I have iLife at home, but what a let down if you didn't own that extra piece of software.
Other than that the color screen is absolutely gorgeous. I also bought an iTrip and used it on my ride back to school and everything worked great.
