i have some stupid questions. as you know i have a pc, and it sucks real bad. i think it has a mother board problem, been getting a lot of hardware errors. anyway, it's 1.2ghz athlon 100gb hd 128mb radeon 9600 640sdram with an extra 128 chip. it's pretty crappy but i still want to know anyway, how much could i get for the parts, or maybe even the whole? i am a poor bastard and anything will help.

second thought, the motherboard is useless, so don't count that.

only things worth salvaging are the graphics card and the HD... The memory isn't worth jack and well the motherboard and processor... no comment

BFG just lowered his expectations. I wouldn't put any of it that high, but if you consider the expenses of finding a buyer, you'd probably have more fun burning it all, and stealing a Mac Mini from a store.

Sorry to say but that PC is well outdated. Motherboard is fried it isnt real worth more then $25 bucks. You can try and sell it at www.craigslist.com and just tell someone to come pick it up. I would first run some Anti virus software on it first like AVG to make sure its not a pesky virus causing your problems.

Just think...if you took the money you spent on that PC and the money your GOING to spend on a new PC you could have had a top of the line Mac. Kind of Ironic dont you think?  ::wall::

I find it ironic when I look a Dell flyer next to a Apple Store and notice with all the hidden fees, you get pretty much the same power with the mac and a lot more in terms of software, stability, and of-course a proper OS... not home editions!

lets change this thread to something positive, rather then dwelling on my shitty pc, maybe we can start a Buy Bronto A Real Computer fund, where you can pledge money to pull me away from the dark side..it's a good cause, every penny counts, as long as there are thousands of them. also, if you have a good used one, i might look into that. i'd really like to get something top of the line for once though.

it wasn't too bad 6 months ago, but i recently started again, right when it crapped itself. i mean, it wasn't great, but it worked. i use most of the ports on a computer, all the mic / line in ports, both firewires, all three usbs. it'd be a pain to have to keep on switching things. i want to get something that'll work for me for a long time, instead of going cheap like i always do.

iMacs from 1299, powermacs from 1499. You can get a EDU discount, might put you close.
