Ok, so Typhy started a RvS game with the title: "I see a red door and I want it painted black..." Quickly, I inform him that the correct lyrics are "...I want to paint it black..." hence the name of the song, "Paint it Black." He then tells me that the lyrics are "...want it painted black..." because the name of the song is, well... "Painted Black."

A bet is made. First, I bet 300 dollars, confident that the song is "Paint it Black." Typhy shot the bet up to 50,000, and as I contemplated what kind of new car I'd buy with the money, I accepted quickly.

So what does Typhy show me to "prove" he's right?

it says "Paint It Black" on my Forty Licks CD back.

That's exactly how the copy I have in iTunes goes.

Interesting. The lyrics could in fact be "...painted black..."

The poll, however, is regarding the actual title of the song. I'm not 100% confident of what the lyrics are. In fact, I'm now starting to lean in favor of them being "...painted black..."

However, I'm still 100% sure that the title is "Paint it Black." Typhy owes snipe $50,000, paid in cash.

When you take into account the interest on your premium account, which I bought you, you still owe me about 500,000 bucks from that.

While the song title may be Paint It Black, the origonal debate was over the lyrics.

www.allmusic.com says the songname is "Paint it, black", first appearing on the "Aftermath" album of 1966. no lyrics are available there though.

Typhy is right about the lyric - and Snipe actually you just made yourself look like a fool  ::lol:: because if you read through your own post:
 
you are also refering to the lyric and not just the title. The title is Paint it black and the lyric is I want it painted black. So at all I think this is a tie! Both were wrong in one way and I won!!! ::applause::

Btw get the rock version from Gob, played also in the Stir of Echoes movie. Very nice song.

Yes, I admitted that I may be wrong about the lyrics (why the fuck wouldn't they just follow the song title?!), but what I was positive about was the song title itself, which Typhy insisted was "Painted Black," which it isn't.

Basically, Typhy's lyrics were fine, but me questioning them led to the fact that he doesn't even know the real title.
