I heard today that Scott Kevill has passed away from Cancer. Keep in mind this is a un-reliable source but I tend to think it could be true as I havnt seen Evill on GameRanger in some time. I hope this is just a Evill Rumor...

Edit: where does he live again? If he did die, there might be a death notice or obit in a local paper.

Well, I hope the rumor is untrue. Evill is a great person, even though he doesn't talk to his clients too much; he's still a great person. I wish him all the luck with whatever is going on with him.

     And there doesn't seem to be a Perth or Western Australia newspaper with searchable obituaries. The one obit search I found, on a geneaology site, turned up three Kevills from Western Australia, but no Scotts.

What source did you see this in? I wonder if we will ever really know. I guess the only way would be if Evill came back. Then he'd be alive. If he's dead, we might never know.

I highly doubt he died, but there's really no way to be sure until someone hears something reliable.

If he died, I am sure that some Mac gaming website would have picked it up by now and posted something. It is amazing how you people can worry so much over a rumor.

there has been 3 Plug ins added into the GR folder

My dates for these are: (one was messed up because i was on holiday, and i noticed the download when i logged into GR when i got back)

1: Enemy Engaged - 30th sep
2: Homeworld 2 - 28th Sep
3: Railroad Tycoon 3 - 23rd Sep

He is prolly on some noob account so we would stop bothering him

and onwig... that this plug-ins got added to GameRanger doesn't necessarily mean that Evill is around. the icon of Homeworld 2 doesn't even work in the gamelists... and that should be a very simple thing to fix. he didn't do it since it got added. anyways, the game probably didn't even get tested before. Homeworld 2 MP doesn't work on GameRanger. wouldn't Evill have made sure that it works before adding it?

and btw... when u do a whois for gameranger.com you can see that it got updated on september 15th.

He was in the phonebook. No crime there. Don't find anything in the EULA saying I can't talk to him.

If Evill just dropped dead one day from cancer, without any prior rumours of illness would be a shock i'd admit. But even if Evill did die, there are plenty of alternatives to GR, so maybe we wouldnt all be in the same app, we'd still be playing on DAMN.

After spending many years building GameRanger up with little finacial reward for the effort, the creator of GameRanger has decided to take a WELL DESERVED break from morons.

Use your brains. If the guy had passed away from Cancer, we could assume that he knew it was coming, right? So he would have made plans to be implemented at the time of his demise. (servers have to be paid for or shut down).
So that just blows the theory away. Any two year old could figure that out.

He is alive and well, and enjoying not having to put up with morons saying things like "omg joo bannzorred me u fucktard" every two seconds.
