Title: You mean the Splinter Cell production project isn't entirely dead?

To be quite honest, I don't care about Splinter Cell as a game. I've just had a lot of fun watching it idle in the "Coming Soon" list on IMG, while other games get put on the "Coming Soon" list, then eventually go to the "New Releases" list, and then even come off the "New Releases" list, while Splinter Cell constantly remains at "Coming Soon".

It appears progress is being made...

lol, I'd be willing to bet Splinter Cell 3 will pop up on Xbox and PC before SC for mac even is in gold. GameCube and PS2 will probably fall about 2-3 months later. (still before the mac version)

The multiplayer blows chunks in SC PT. It's cool for about the first 15 minutes, and did i mention it's only fun with a friend you know on or offline?

You know you're love life's bad when you get dumped by furniture.

Origonally Splinter had the same release date at RvS. . . Gotta love Aspyr's time estimates. ;)

Typhy, the thing is they don't really care about the game, they know we've all played it. They want to have it on their record but more look we made $5 than say Bf1942, RvS, and regrettably GhR.

Post by: BFG on September 15, 2004, 07:36:46 pm
Aspyr said today that the Mac vesion of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell has reached Gold Master status and will begin shipping on September 27, arriving in stores nationwide by October 2. "When two CIA agents mysteriously vanish in the former Soviet republic of Georgia, the NSA?s secret sub agency, Third Echelon, deploys Sam Fisher -- its most capable splinter cell operative -- to recover them. Fisher soon uncovers a deeper conspiracy: a plot that threatens to destabilize the world order and spark nuclear conflict." It can be pre-ordered now for US$38.

I don't like Splinter Cell one bit...too complex, especially for console controllers methinks.

I actually thought it was an alright game, the controls (for me at least) when testing didnt seem to be difficult at all.  Though i can see how it would be a bitch and a half to try and learn the controls on an Xbox controller.  Id say the game is worth a look, especially if you prefer the idea of stealth over Quake 2 style, run 'n gun type play (which has its own merits)

**Partial Spoiler**
The only thing that bugged me, was your disturbing lack of hand to hand combat knowledge.  I mean, if youre some uber l337 NSA operative, youd think you would be able to do something like, kill thirty people at the same time with a well thrown toothpick or something, instead of your only option in close combat, standing infront of the guy and whomping him with your elbow.  Granted, that is an absolute -last- resort, but still...Oh well.  Still worth a look.

That's Splinter Cell 3 Chao's Theory.  No knives in the first Splinter Cell.
