Something that might hit home for those of us in the U.S....it actually seems that the 'droughts' in the mid-west are going through right now are the norm, in the grand scheme of things.  Looking at the geological evidence, the mid-west was actually -very- dry, and we just happened to settle it during an extended period of more than usual levels of rainfall.  

So, we either start becoming dependant upon the production of other agricultural regions and food sources...start developing much less water-dependant crops...or just self-destruct, there is always option C.   ;D

As humans, we read that and think in our brain that we'll try and save the envirorment, but in most cases we don't give a shit the next day.  Actions speak louder than words.  You guys may think it's funny, but it's affecting all of us, you just don't see it or feel it yet, oh but you will in the next few decades, I promise you.
