Heh, maybe now I might visit Office Depot.  I've always found Office Depot to be a very boring store for some reason.  They sell horrible PCs and they are the same as Staples.  Good news, Office Depot replaces Best Buy as Apple reseller :-)

Wow, I didn't think it possible but one has said something I completely agree with. Office Depot isn't in Canada, so yea. Staples should follow this lead.

and, in Canada's Best Buy doesn't sell Apple products (except iPod).  Good news!

Some yes, some no.  Where you from in Canada?  In Toronto, I find only one reseller to be the biggest Apple providers in Toronto, they are a little pricy, but the inventory is never out of stock and the staff knows their stuff.  Some others are ok, but not as good, in terms of service or knowledge.

the problem with those kind of stores (Best Buy, CompUSA, Office depot, Fry's electronics ...) is that they dont know jack shit about what they 're selling.
This is not a problem if you read maccentral everyday (and those who read it probably buy their computer online anyway)
But most of the people dont, so i'm not sure that they'd be able to make an undecided customer want to buy an Apple instead of a regular PC.

Seeing bobby mention it, i advise everybody to NEVER, EVER buy ANYTHING from Fry's Electronics.

The only two times ive went there, theyve tried to give me the shaft.  The first time was undoubtedly the worst.

So, a year and a half ago when i got my 15" laptop, they said "well, we have one in stock, it's been used as a floor model, but its never left the store" i think ok fine, buy it, and go on my merry way.  So, i open up the box, and the first thing i see is a repair sheet for this computer, for a busted hinge and bad CD drive.  I check the serial number on the repair sheet and the computer, and Lo! they are the same.  They fucking blatently lied about a computer's condition and use, and refused to do anything but "pay for the gas" that it took me to get to and from the store.  

I also noted, i bought a mouse there a while back, foolishly thinking the above incident was just an accident, the mouse was listed as like, a 20% discount, on the stand it came from.  When they rang it up, it was full price.  So i tell them this, they put on the big act "oh sorry, with so many items we just cant keep up, someone is fixing it right now, and you get the discount".  A week later, just out of curiosity, i go back, and on the stand it still has the 20% discount...

NEVER BUY FROM FRYS!!! EVER!!!!

Anyhow, i dont really have anything against apple, but ive never had anything royally go in the tank with my computers, so i dont have anything to complain about.

But this also means the they will start selling mac software.. so now we can go down the road to the local Office Depot to get your software instead of having to order it... or in some cases travel a whle to the nearest apple store.

Lucky me I have an apple store about 10 minutes from my house. Does Best Buy sell anything from Apple other than iPod's anywhere ??? they don't here which really pissed me off . . . It forces me to walk through the Mall of America, and that's not very fun. I just hope Office Depot sells software here.

lol, that would suck, I'm sorry GS :( I have one that's about 20 minutes away (Southdale Mall) and the other about 10 minutes away (Mall of America) . . . the Apple Stores are truely the best and most comfortable stores to be in. many of you Euro's are really missing out.
btw: where can I go in Europe for Apple products? I'll be there for 3 weeks without any sign of Apple

They need to throw a store into Toronto or something.

There is rumors that Apple might be opening up a store at Yorkdale Mall and downtown's Eaton Centre and another location somewhere else too, dunno where.

Rumors are rumors, they should put them everywhere!

dude, in maine when you say mac, people think you mean the apple. dont be complaining to me about being in a remote area...

Actually, I think Office Depot is only availble for Online Apple Re-selling. You might not see Apple products in the retail stores. This is what I pulled from what I've read so far.

Does this have any effect on Office Depot in Canada? We need more Apple resellers in Winnipeg. Best Buy (only seen iPod), future shop (no software and only 1 iMac EVER in stock), London Drugs has all models (may start shopping there). Other than that, not much else for Mac fans  :(

Well, in Winnipeg we have both Staples and Office Depot. Both are separate and different stores. Actually in one mall they are on opposite ends of parking lot.
