Title: Macs and Ghost Recon
Post by: Malign on June 11, 2004, 06:34:26 am
K, i'm a mac user and was wondering about leaving ghost recon while in a game and with panther users, u hit control+apple+s to go to your desktop while in game. now my question is how do i get back into game without having a black screen. i know in another game i just quit the app that i go to and it goes rtight back into game with no probs, but in ghost recon i cant. any help would be greatly appreciated ??? ??? ???

are you playing on Game Ranger? or outside of Game ranger?

it is most probably the GameRanger GhR anti-cheat protection... which prevents you from going to your desktop to edit files etc while in game.

if you didn't notice yet... GameRanger also disables the window mode of GhR and forces you to play in full screen mode cause of the same reason since several months already.

rofl....anti cheat....funny stuff. Why dont we just run progs in all the servers that scan for editted files...thats what they do on PC servers. This way we can still go to our desktop...oh well.

GameRanger actually checks special folders for editted files (i.e. for fullscreen nightvision), besides forcing to play with fullscreen.

k thx very much but i also tried this morning out of game ranger and the same thing still apllies, black screen, the reason for this is so i can check for ppl on different games while playing others so i dont have to leave if no one else is around, if theres a way for me to do that outside of game ranger id appreciate it if u let me know for like when im doing missions on ghost recon for practice. once again i am thankful for ur help so far.  8)

the GhR 1.0.3 update implemented some cheat-preventing things... don't know exactly what, though. what i know is that it works together with the GameRanger anti-cheat protection.

it could be that it's simply a bug in the game or that the apple+control+s feature doesn't work in GhR and causes a black screen therefore.

Fullscreen night vision?  What's that...
