Cool, hopefully now Mac gamers can enjoy the same high frame rates that PC gamers have.

What?

Edit: Oh, I guess I see what you mean ? high frame rates because they are optimized for OSX instead of ports?

I for one can't wait to play this game:

Close Combat: First to Fight (http://www.insidemacgames.com/news/story.php?ArticleID=9373)

I've read about it in several other places too but this was the only web link I could find.

Designed as a training tool for the marine corp, published as a Tactical FPS. ?There is no guesswork on how to make the games realistic since we are developing First to Fight and Red Phoenix with significant input from Marines who, just weeks before, were being shot at in Iraq and Afghanistan. ?

Basically we're talking about the most realistic Tactical FPS to date. AI that knows how to cover you while moving through stairwells and knows how to do bounding across open areas. AI that reacts realistically to the situation, as in, it will react negatively to situations where it has to put civilians in harms way. You can also call for fire support from air, artillery, and mortars.

The future looks bright for gaming indeed.

Yes it does, Alaric. I just checked out the new Official Xbox Magazine, and they have so many nice games coming out. Not to mention the Mac games coming.

Crypt, there is this amazing game coming out very soon for xbox, its the most precise, detailed tactical warfare game I have ever seen, after watching a demo clip on the net.  Its called Full Spectrum Warrior (http://www.xbox.com/en-ca/fullspectrumwarrior/default.htm?level1=encahome&level2=fg2blurb&level3=fullspectrumwarrior).

Now, I the link above is for Xbox, but its also out for PC and from the screen shots on the Xbox site, those pics doesn't do the game justice.  I think the demo I saw at gametrailers.com was for PC gaming and not console, b/c the graphics looked far better.

One thing about this game that is different from most warfare games; its not FPS.  It 3rd person view, BUT, its not like a C&CG, kind of game.  As much as I dont like 3rd person (TPS) view games, this is the first TPS game, where I was really impressed and started to get hooked after watching the demo last night.

I don't know if its coming out for mac, but it is out for PC, so who knows?.....but if it does come out for mac, OMG!!   :o   :D

I'm debating getting this or not, I might just rent it. Looks like a great title indeed. I just question the fun factor with the strategy stuff.

Do any of you remember the first "Close Combat" games? They were kinda like an RTS but you had a limited number of resources to accomplish your objectives. Emphasis on strategy and tactics, not economy like other RTSes Very cool game.

Anyway, that's kinda what this Full Spectrum Warrior game reminds me of, an updated Close Combat. Looks like a great title. Can't wait to try it out.

On a completely unrelated subject, Loth was telling me about this great GameCube game he just got but I can't remember enough to write coherently about it. Loth?

I just found these awesome links for Full Spectrum Warrior. God, I can't wait to play this game!

I've been following FSW since E3 2003. What may not be clear from the screenshots and whatnot that you guys are looking at is that it's a pure strategy game. It's based on an Army training tool for squad leaders and is designed to teach them tactics, not how to shoot.

The GC game is called "Beyond Good & Evil". It's an action/RPG of sorts. Good plot, damn fine animation, the puzzles are a little easy, fun combat, and a camera and a hovercraft play a major part throughout the game. Fun stuff, and it cost me $17.99 at GameStop.

Here is a link (http://www.fullspectrumwarrior.co.uk/images/FSW_Trailer2.mov) where you can see a demo movie of the game. It looks awsome and has a great new way of gaming. I hope it comes out for mac. Or I'll have to buy an xbox.
