2.1 gives us: Maps: SF Arctic SF Village Weapons: AT4 Rocket Launcher. The ability to use the Styker's .50 cal Machine gun (SF Arctic only). Its not on the official website yet but it will not be long. With no nade spamming the gameplay is 100% better. SFSandstorm is much coolers now with moving Pam trees and I can just stair at them all day there so cool. Its also much easier to kill people now and I am getting kills a lot more now. Give it a little more time before giving up. I admit thre are cool features (moving palm trees haha), but in total I think 2.0.0a is better, just my opinion. Guns in the new version shoot 30 bullets in 2 seconds, rather then 10.
Also the maps seem to have gotten laggier. P.S. I really hated the spam nading and now its down to more skill than throwing nades from the start same with Hospital. Anyone else have an opinion on this?
Maybe you were one of those spam naders SAR :) The guns do fire much faster. This was to try and help against bunny hoppers. I have no idea if it actually works. But you don't have to fire of as much rounds as you did because people die a lot faster now. At the moment the game is laggier but its only been out for just over a day. They don't even have servers up running the new maps. You got to let them get them all up to speed and running well. Remember us mac users don't usually see this because we get the patch later so give it a week and see how it is. As for fps I get higher fps on the old maps and they all run nice and smooth (but not Recon). The new maps I haven't been able to get a nice server to run them on to see the differences. When beta testing I only had the chance to play on west coast servers and there was only 2 or 3 of us at one time. So I am looking forward to playing them on a EU server with a full complement of players to see how they run. But not having much graphics prob (but that might be b/c of the new vid card i just got 256mb w000t).. Have been having alot of prob w/ the sound though...... sound cutting in and out(shoot a gun on full auto and the shots blend togather after a while.. stryker gun shoots 3 or 4 shots then keeps shooting.. but you cant hear it.. then you can hear it again).. throw a flash nade and the ringing does not stop till thhe game ends,, shit like that

For the update it said my game was damaged, and I needed a fresh install, I installed twice, and tried 3 different updates, but it didn't work. Just download the full version.. So all I did was download the patch from 2.0 to 2.0.a which is only 8mbs btw, then ran the 2.0.a to 2.1 patch and it worked perfectly. I hope that works for ya. voods ie: i had sandstorm install and everything, what ever I was missing was fixed by patching that 8mb file. G.L. I had to remap all my keys... Then when I went in a game I couldn't fire my gun, I had to remap my mouse button with a normal key and then turn it back to the mouse button before it started working. All the keys I mapped for my all the sorts of nades didn't work... Again I had to remap them... :( I tried the village map for a few rounds, but there was to much lag so I had to leave the server. I will give it another shot this evening to see if there are any improvements... I also noticed like most of you that the guns are more accurate then before. I shot a guy in his leg 2 times and he died :( I find it a bit strange, I'll need to get used to that and a lot of the new features. But I guess an update can never be bad, it'll all turn out well in the end. The bullet may have entered his leg but it probably hit the bone and ended up taking a new path to hit his body or head therefor killing him. Just like a bullet can in real life. I guess you don't mean accurate but more damaging. This is not true the damage made by the guns are the same but rather the code is setup to inflict the highest damage "bone". For example if you shot a guy in the hand in 2.0 and bullet continued through and hit him in the head then he would only take the damage of the hand injury, where in 2.1 he will die. This is why if you pumped 5 or 10 rounds full into the chest of an enemy in 2.0 as he was facing you he probably would not die as you are actually hitting his hands most of the time. So an M4 vs an RPK has changed. Because the RPK is less accurate you had more chance to hit the head or just spread the body with rounds in 2.0 but in 2.1 the M4 is now faster firing and as accurate as ever so one quick bust kills the RPK user and the RPKer will only get of a few rounds before he is dead and most of the rounds will miss. Authorization is up and down like a yoyo. I have only had about 20 points that have actually been recorded out of over 2000 (enough to get me to 42 honor). I havn't tried playing on any of the old maps at all yet. I didn't experience any of the problems while playing, but maybe that is just because I didn't download it until after they fixed a few bugs in the servers. I think I will set my BTs AA Server (69.25.17.56) to either Village or Arctic today.

But I got another Problem now: I?m trying now to play on an Server with Punkbuster for an online game, but I am everytime thrown out, because it maybe thinks, I am cheating(I tried it on non PB Servers, and I could play). Ok, Punkbuster is telling me, that he can?t authenticate with the PB Server.
