Just incase you don't know this will not be 2.1

2.1 will be called Downrange and you can't drive the Stryker yet :(

This has the main points:
http://www.americasarmy.com/community/sitrep_041604.php (http://www.americasarmy.com/community/sitrep_041604.php)

and this one:
http://www.americasarmy.com/community/sitrep_031904.php (http://www.americasarmy.com/community/sitrep_031904.php)

In Downrange you can use the Stryker (Armored Personnel Carrier) but its stationary.

But I am not going to tell you anymore. I signed an NDA and I don't want to get into trouble :-[

It works differently now. When I joined I didn't have to sign an NDA I just had to tick a box everytime I logged in. So I don't know how long it will take.

Now everyone has to sign and return this NDA before they can start testing and there not letting any none US in anymore.

so here's what's going to happen then, i'm guessing

you need to qualify to do the new cool thing
half of the gr aa community does so, the other half bitches
about it being too hard or what not
the other half rant and rave about how cool it is, and play it non stop for about a week if that
then all those of us who  have shitty framerates get our asses handed to us by the pc sluts and g5 whores, and drop the game as well

thus leafing a handful who still play the game

i'm pretty sure responding o this one wont violate your NDA ross ;)

Yea brain you will need to qualify. As usual we will the noobs who complain about not begging able to complete it but I would really not like a noob driving me about in a rocket magnet.

But you never know it might be easy.

And yes we will have people complaining about bad fps and I really don't think my 700mhz iMac will be able to handle it. But I have until 2005 to get a new mac.

But the games made for the best of the best :)

Being that we might not get the new version of AA because the Army is thinking about discontinuing the mac version, this thread could be pointless. For more info check out the americas army General Mac forum to read more about the discontinuation.

Yea its already been posted.

It may get discontinued in the future but for now its still getting ported. There is no point looking at the bad side for now.

Its just like talking about Ghost Recon 2 when we don't even now if that will be ported to the mac. So dose that make all the threads about it pointless?

Yes.

No.

Since when did a little wishfull imagination do any harm... for all we know they might decide that u need to pay for AA - and a porting house like Aspyr might take it on... youd have to pay a bit for the game and the updates - but you'd still get AA...

Or they might pull the plug completly... If they don't port GhR to the mac, well you have some very stupid business men - dosn't take a genius to see the popularity of the game and the market potential. its like saying the sims for mac was a drop out and that porting the sims2 would be a waste of money.

lol

BFG, we wont get a direct console---> mac port.  Even the Pc port is shady. GhR was never a PC hit. From what I know ti only did well on the consoles, and thats what they will be aiming for with GhR2. More console game play than PC gameplay. You may be be the stupid businessman here BFG, not them. The xbox may be a sound purchase for you BFG.

AA on the other hand will be ported. No reasons needed.

Its good to see you do no research at all.

Ghost Recon in the world wide xbox live charts is this week at number 13 with IT in number 6.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/live-top25games.htm?level1=livehome&level2=topgames&level3=top25gameslist (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/live-top25games.htm?level1=livehome&level2=topgames&level3=top25gameslist)

I don't know why but the xbox guys love ghost recon. It keeps getting good reviews and they still love playing it.

As i understood it a PC port of the game was pretty well confirmed. Therefore when regarding the conversion i was refering to mac publishers... for them not to realise that GhR has done well on the mac and that the viability of a pc-mac port is high... is well daft.

Its going to be on of those 'wait and see' jobs isnt' it.... fingers crossed and all that!

Flies, you realize that I said that GhR was more popular on consoles than PCs. I stated that it wasn't a hit game on the PC. What more must I say. Take more time to comprehend what you read.

Flies?

Your right I misread. But it was a big hit on the PC side too.

Wasnt a hit on PC's cause the graphs sucked and so did the gameplay. The reason for this is cause u can shoot a guy all the way across the map wihtout a problem and most gamers are looking for realism (aka the bullet falls due to gravity) so they go to games such as AA which has 3000000 players or they go back to their roots and play the most popular PC game ever, Counter Strike. The reason GhR is sooooo big on mac is cause we dont get many ports. But i think GhR lacks the ability to see your gun and the graphics to compete with bigger PC titles such as CoD and BF Vietnam. Frankly, id say to hell with AA and lets play some CoD just get us the freackin 1.4 patch!

Ok so I made a minor error, but not as big as yours! ... and as rebel said no, it wasn't.

Ok if it wasn't a big hit on PC... Why the hell did it win the "Game of the Year 2001" price? I got the original box sitting here on my shelf. Ghost Recon was a hit, its just to long ago to remember.
