Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Dearg Doom on May 08, 2004, 10:53:42 pm I have downloaded 2.5 and run installer, but i'm getting kicked as games are about to start (and not because i'm crap either). When I run the installer it says it is creating a Ghost Recon Data folder but there is nothing in the DBL 2 folder to indicate an upgrade. How can I tell if upgrade has been successful ?
Please help - v.frustrating !! :( Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Civrock on May 08, 2004, 11:31:49 pm i've seen this happen when people changed the names of some folders in the GhR folder. you should NEVER do that. :)
to see if the update has been installed correctly u go to this folder: Ghost Recon - Desert Siege/Ghost Recon Data/Mods/*DAMN BL Mappack 2 and check the file: ModsCont.txt if it says *DAMN BL Mappack 2.5 in there it?s installed correctly. Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: mainstream on May 09, 2004, 12:13:53 pm Problems w/ 2.5
What the heck are u mod guys doing? The changes made for 2.5 are good, but, to avoid problems, you should have made it DAMN 3, not 2.5 The 2.5 update is causing problems w/ GR. The effect of these problems is to boot players from games arbitrarily. GR boots players because 2.5 is only an update, and GR doesn't understand the differences between 2.0 and 2.5. The easiest fix to these problems is, unfortunatley, to create a new version. So, that the GR player has DAMN 1, 2, and 3. This will allow GR to make sense of the changes you guys are making. Thank-you, Adam. P.S. I do appreciate the work you have put forward. Thank-you very much. Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Dearg Doom on May 09, 2004, 01:47:28 pm Civic
I haven't changed any names and ModsCont.txt still shows v2.0. I have tried on 2 different computers also. I did get it to work however by installing elsewhere on the hard drive and then copying these new folders across to the DBL2 folder. I don't know however if I have overwritten any important files. Seems to work though !! Mauti do you have a list of what the new additions to the mod were so that I can check. Thanks DD ----- I've now managed to get the installer to work properly on the second computer but I still don't know why it wouldn't work originally. i did overwrite some of the orig files but all is now well. keep up the good work guys. ----- Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Thrill Killer on May 09, 2004, 03:51:21 pm Civic i found a bug in the game if im going to use Gl with oicw there stand 300 shot and 12.6 gl there or anything and and in the game there i start the game there are normal =P so i dont think is a problem are the thing a problem?

First off when I host, it kicks ppl off the server if they click to fast to pick a gun ??? When I host in GHR itself no problems i can even see the new guns, when I host in GR no new guns at all. What do i do, and pls don't tell me to reinstall Ghr, because i really don't feel like spending to much time reinstalling AGAIN. thank U. Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Civrock on May 11, 2004, 01:40:23 pm KGB, could it be that you have more than one installation of GhR on your comp? check if GR opens the right one with the mappack... in the GR prefs.
Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Revolt on May 11, 2004, 03:08:59 pm i get like white textures on new guns (IT GUNS).....similar to the white texture faces that use to occur....and no gun sounds for IT guns////
See ara and Sab,,i thought 2.5 was a nice update....but it seems when one little thing is wrong with update and you get slaughtered with ridicule... I think its great...the guns and stuff need work but lets work on 2.6??? fix all the details..if you need me im back in effect and will be able to work on it.... Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Stripes on May 11, 2004, 05:38:16 pm hey guys, my clan member had this "bug" or folk thinks it it cheat ffs or whatever u call it he had like 24878247248 GL Shot's in his GL...(display) we others played with it / with only 12 as normally - i don't know what it is but he was host and it only came up once but could it be a 2.5 KIT bugs ? since u updated much on the kits and it's 1st time just after he installed 2.5.
any help ? (not civic) cuz he just blocks me Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: KGB on May 11, 2004, 05:49:40 pm Correctomundo civic.
it was indeed a different copy that GR used. I forgot all about that one. Seems to work fine now. Sorry to bother you with my noobish ways ;-) gracias Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Civrock on May 11, 2004, 06:24:14 pm hey guys, my clan member had this "bug" or folk thinks it it cheat ffs or whatever u call it he had like 24878247248 GL Shot's in his GL...(display) we others played with it / with only 12 as normally - i don't know what it is but he was host and it only came up once but could it be a 2.5 KIT bugs ? since u updated much on the kits and it's 1st time just after he installed 2.5. the new mappacks and updates don't touch the old original weapon datas (like the OICW with GL) at all. any help ? (not civic) cuz he just blocks me i don't let myself insult like that from some 12-year-old in GameRanger private messages. you think i'm against you and do everything against you although i helped you so often with BL stuff already... there's something new you want/ask me almost every day... paranoid? i expect an apology, until then you stay blocked, Stripes.[/color] Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: ~Po~ TiroFino on May 11, 2004, 07:16:12 pm To avoid problems installing the 2.5 Update, I recommend you guys that are getting booted do the following:
Request for the new update to be sent to your desktop.... Open you destination folder and manually drop the new updates in there, press rewrite all if asked...and you're done... now you know that the new files are in the right folder. That's how I did it and it worked fine. Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Aramarth on May 11, 2004, 07:39:50 pm Revolt, that is a result of an improper installation. When the installer run properly, there are no such bugs. I spent hours testing the update, and none of the bugs mentioned here occur. Stripes, your bug is a big joke. No files are changed in 2.5, but merely new ones added.
Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: BFG on May 14, 2004, 07:12:24 pm This has nothing to do with *DAMN BL mappack problems. IF you don't have a issue you wish to report then do not post here. - all irrelevant posts deleted accordingly.
Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: th.Sentinel on June 02, 2004, 01:19:59 pm There is a bug in the 2.55 FFA restriction for OICW/GL and sensors.
The restriction only restricts sensors from the rifleman but not from the demo expert. The sensors from several demo kits are still available to pick. Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Aramarth on June 02, 2004, 04:04:35 pm Oh nuts... thanks Sent. Whos the punk who gave sensors to a demo expert in the first place.... Stupid mp5s...
Title: Re:*DAMN BL Mappack 2.5: Problems / Bug Reports Post by: Aramarth on June 02, 2004, 04:17:46 pm Interestingly enough, the support experts have sensors in a few IT kits. I remembered those, but not the mp5s... go figure. For those of you who know where the file goes, you can get the fix here. (http://filebox.vt.edu/users/msuter/ghr/ffa.kil.zip) Simply place the ffa.kil file in your mappack2/kits folder. It should overwrite the old file if you put it in the right place. This is the immediate fix, a more official installer from Mauti will follow of course.
