Post by: SniperSakon-SE- on May 02, 2004, 08:55:51 am
i have a quick question to the moderators and *DAMN would you concider customizing RvS files such as the User.ini file to your preference example: changing reticule color ect ect ect as cheating? or is that fair play?

Absolutly... its an interesting one where the line is drawn. but there is definatly one - say between modifying your command maps, to having full screen night vision.

Since your clanleader is supposed to be responsible for all clanmembers actions, just bring the question to him first.

Definatly. Your actions are ultermatly their responsibilty and it must be their call. if they aren't sure they can check with us (admins, damn etc) but like flies said they are answerable for your actions.

There is another thread regarding keybinding which raise's similar issues  http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=5996  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=5996)

Well i am the leader of -SE- so i came here to ask the question hopeing someone could tell me but if its just changing the reticule color i dont see how it could be cheating im just wondering if modifying any other part of the User.ini file could be concidered cheating. ::)

User.ini doesn't really have anything useful that gives you an advantage over other players, unless you consider tweaking ur fps an unfair advantage.

No not at all... the more squeeze you can get well fair play! unless of course it were along the lines of replacing textures with blank color etc so you sould see the enemy clearer .... etc.

Common sense makes it pretty clear to decide what is or sn't aceptable.. and we're hear to ask if you want to make 100% sure
