"The major labels are looking at increasing the price of iTunes Music Store downloads to as much as $2.49 ? with experts predicting the move could kill the service." Muthafuck them. What a bunch of idiots. Do they want to ruin themselves or something? Ahh, the perfect smilie: :P Title: Re:More Crazy Recording Label Hijicks Post by: |MP|Buccaneer on April 24, 2004, 09:19:53 am I wouldn't be chicken little about this yet. The article says:
Despite iTunes' success and the growing success of other services, the record industry still isn't happy; it thinks that 99 cents a song is too cheap, and the five major labels (Universal Music Group, EMI, BMG, Sony and Warner Music) are discussing a price hike ranging from $1.25 to an eye-gouging $2.49 per song. Discussing a price hike. Hell, they are always talking about pricing, that's part of everyday business. If it had been said that they are negotiating with Apple and higher prices already, then I'd be more concerned, but just to say that they are talking of charging more, that doesn't get my juices flowing. Whoever wrote that article had his head up his ass about a few other facts too, so I wouldn't worry about it coming true. |
