This thing beats the ATI in every way possible. In some cases it can even double the 9800XT's performance. http://www.nvidia.com/page/pg_20040406661996.html here's a nice spec sheet NVIDIA gave us. It can get steady frame rates with heavy anti-aliasing and that other AT stuff. So to sum it up before I hit "post", I hate NVIDIA always will, always have. The ATI cards shall always win! Speaking of ATI they are set to release their next card very soon. Let's hope that this like this NVIDIA it will have off the bat mac support. Here's to Apple making the NVIDIA card. It was the cause of my not being able to join rogue spear games twice in one startup, and it's the cause of my ?ber crapppy framerates.

Since Apple's hardware sucked so much dick until just recently, high-powered video cards hit bottlenecks in those systems, which means that most people stay with the middle-of-the-road cards which are practically the same from both manufacturers. No significant differences = no room for argument. When more people get G5s, which are thankfully free of the legacy systems' bottlenecks, then the debates over which $400 video card to get will begin in earnest. : D

If microsoft would sort that heap of shit out we might get some healthier ports and not only a better choice of games but games that actually played good on the hardware (like QIII!)
Ive been disapointed with the MX versions of the Nvidia cards... The Geforce4mx card well... didn't feel a whole load more powerful than the 2mx... sure it was etc but considering the techy stuff i expected a bit more oomph. This new Nvidia card looks sh*t hot though... and the introduction of such sweet bites such asf VS3.0 looks ... well very nice! |
