Can't figure it out whenever I go to a download site the link is always down (IMG, Macgamefiles, Fileplanet, etc.)  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Try www.versiontracker.com, search "America's Army" and download 2.0a.

even on Versiontracker when i click on the link it takes me to their download page then loops me through some temporary file crap and nothing happens.  I dunno all the places I've tried don't work for some reason and its only the AA files.

P.S.

I finally got it downloaded it took some wierd s**t tho.  I had to click on the d/l link then really fast before it redirected me to some temp file thing i had to right-click the OTHER download button and then 'save the file as' to my desktop.  Happy ending thanks for the help people.  I dunno is it any good I never played it before?

Yes, it is wonderful.  I spend something like 1.7 hours each day playing it. :)  Not to mention, besides the great action, and the fact that they actually made it for the Mac, it is also FREE!

BTW, how do you play multiplayer?  I can't figure it out on Gameranger no servers show up and when i click on refresh list in the AA game it says contacting andromeda and nothing happens...
What is andromeda?  Sounds like some kinda planet or something.

Actually, Andromeda is a Galaxy, not a planet.  But what you want to do is change your filter settings.

In the filter you want to change it to gamespy then you should find lots of servers.

besides what they say what do you think the minimum requirements are to play the game.  I have a g4 400 and haven't attempted to play it yet in fear of it destroying my computer.  What do you think?

it won't destroy your computer... but it also won't run on a 400mhz machine.

400mhz! no way it will run any good.

700mhz is minimum (what I use) but you want higher for a better gaming experience.

I got 700Mhz processor and it runs pretty well...
Then again I got hella RAM compared to my other computer so maybe that has something to do with it...
Good game I think I finally got to Special Forces training.
Question:
Are all of the multiplayer missions like excercises with MILES gear or do you actually get to do any shooting?

Most of the missions are live fire....there are only a few that are exclusively MILES....and even then the server can make those maps live fire.

Nother question:
How do you pick which mods go on your SOPMOD?  Do you have to have the SF qualification to be able to choose which one?  I've played matches before where you start with a SOPMOD but all you get is an aimpoint...

Speaking of SF qualified, how do you pass the e&e training?  I can't figure out how to get past the first camp.

You have to be SF qualified AND have 15 honor to play as an SF soldier on any of the SF Maps.  You will be able to pick the mods for your M-4 on the main screen when you load America's Army...you will see two tabs at the top, and one of them is for the Mod of your M-4.  Other maps that are not SF maps do sometimes have the M-4 with an aimpoint (Radio Tower comes to mind).

As for passing the Escape and Evasion Training...just keep trying....you have to be VERY patient and go VERY slow.  May take you an hour or more to low crawl your way through it.  Also, if you keep getting spotted taking one particular route, you are probably going the wrong way....try another route.

lol I'll figure it out it was just kinda pissin me off how no matter what route i would take (and i tried several odd ones too...) I couldnt even make it past the first camp.... o well i'll keep tryin.  it'd be easier with like a topo map or something to look at.

If I could remember back to when I took the training, I would help you, but I did that training back in December and don't remember much from it.  Sorry!

TRUELT, where did you finally download from?? And did you say you right clicked a second button?   ???

I went to version tracker and clicked on the first AA download link (below) but I seem to have downloaded a patch. When I click on the last option I get a window telling me to try again in 10 min.

OK I was able to download another file from File Planet. Unfortunately this doesnt seem to be the game either.  

File name: armyops200a-mac.dmg.bz2

When I expand it the only file that turns up is:
armyops200a-mac.dmg.1

Its 1.67GB
What the hell is goin on???
Do I have to rename the file?

I had a similar experience until I upgraded to stuff-it 8.0.2. (I think, Might be 8.2). Nevertheless, try taking the .1 off the file name. Then it should open.

My version of Stuffit Delux is still 6.0!!  
Oh yeah renaming file doesnt work my Mac still sees it as a simple text file.

I'll try upgrading my Stuffit.  ;)
