Title: OS X 10.3.3 Update Released
Post by: Mr. Lothario on March 16, 2004, 12:08:49 am
10.3.3 is in Software Update now. The release note on it doesn't have anything about OpenGL speedups, however. Was that scrapped, or just not mentioned? Report any framerate changes between 10.3.2 and 10.3.3 here.

So uh...

where are all of these "FPS boosts"

 ??? >:( ??? >:( ???

The "framerate boost" ( open GL update ) was just a rumor. Apple never mentioned anything about it.

I don't know where the GL update info came from but i can't find any info on it... couple of apps seem a bit nippyier (mail) but other than that... certainly no fps inproment

I'm sorry but bullshit.

Too many people said that Open GL was the focus of the update for it to just have been a "rumor."

Plus, there were Open GL updates in the first release, correct?

My guess is that the Open GL updates were causing too many problems, but they didn't want to put 10.3.3 on hold any longer, so the Open GL updates will be released in 10.3.4.

My 2?

RvS looks a hell of a lot more smooth, with some framerate improvements, at least on my G5.

I'm not sure why I usually (used to) only get about 15 fps on AA, but I'm up to 30ish after the update.  I haven't changed a thing on my computer either (other than the 10.3.3 update)

There was no open GL updates I think you are getting confused with the graphic driver updates that are in 10.3.3

Depends on your graphics card how much improvement you will see.

All I know is that I, and at least 3 other guys from c| now have a nasty bug in RvS.  3 times now, have I been shot in RvS, and then my entire computer takes a dive.  it's happened to King.of.Pop, and Bob as well.

Anyone else have this?

well.. sence i got my new monitor.. My NV is fucked up.. most of the screen is black and the past of the viewable NV area in distorted and looking in the wrong direction (mosty way too high). I have been doing everything to fix this (short of reinstalling b/c my RvS cd wont work anymore.. keeps saying I have a invalid installer file.. and that is on an original cd!!!!!!!!!!)hopefully(when i get another job) I will get another HD and reinstall everything right (i mean everything on the HD)

Yes, both RvS and AA both seem a bit more smooth. I use to have to run AA at 800x600, but now I have all setting on Ultra high at 1024x768 and still getting 30-60 fps on CSAR.

I have an ATI 8500, I must have been one of those driver updates. ;)

All ways have done and i suspect i allways will... the firing of your oppolent freaks the comp (working out the muzzle flash etc) and it literally freezes... next thing you know your a bloody heap on the floor... its far from amusing!

No member of |MP| has encounter this problem with being "shot" yet. Could the members of the Collective please explain how they miraculously always end up in the line of enemy fire?

:P

I noticed after the update my comp would boot two times as fast as normal.

But since the update I'm getting weird lag and crashes. My AA crashed 3 times the other day and it all started when I got some strange lag, where ppl started jumping from one end to another. Same thing happened to Ghr, it didn't crash, but I got strange lag on a great host (:MoD:Brutha's). I was sniping for fun, but I could hardly hit someone, because the guy always warped forward when he was running.

I hope this doesn't have anything to do with the update, but the strange thing is, it only started after I did it.

Ive also had a host of problems sent... but regarding Bruthas great server (oh it is so great :) ) it was a problem with lag we were all getting - my ping looked stunning but inside the game we were all having problems... i hope to god it isn't the update and i doubt it or the other problems i have had are.. .but talking of AA i've had similar problems...recently

I hope someone can help. I bought a new Seagate 80 grive for my G4 533 896 ram
and an ATI 9000 Pro. I installed 10.3.3 with the Display update from ATI that is just fro 10.3.3.
and when I start Raven Shield my screen goes into sleep mode, I can hear the sound but all
black until I force quit. Ghost Recon is still fine and faster, Tiger Woods is twice as fast and better
graphics, but RvS well you heard it all black, Someone please.

Thank You all

I hope all the light touches your souls.
